What to do with Perfect Blastoise?

Got my first Blastoise, and as it's the rarest starter candy in my area so I was happy when I hatched a perfect Squirtle and save candy for it to be my first Blastoise. However, I got Bite/Ice Beam for move set and according to this site that's a pretty lame move set.

Is it good for anything other than as a trophy case perfect mon?

low cp pokemon is only good for prestiging so its needs to have ideal attack moveset. Also not worth powering up.

  1. Pretty Bad ass mon!
  2. Movesets may be adjustable in the near future
  3. Put it in a gym as a defender, and Train against it with a grass type, see what happens (check all of your defenders this way)
if it is as rare in your area as you say (you should favorite it so you don't even transfer it by mistake) Assuming you have 250 standard storage, blastoise shouldn't deserve a spot out of 250? Regardless of the move sets. Do not transfer!
Should you upgrade it, only upgrade mons that you have excess candy for. Keep the candies you get going forward and get another one whenever possible.

Release it. Sorry, it's not worth the inventory space

A perfect IV Pokemon will always be worth inventory space, especially a starter Pokemon. It'll probably never see gym action, but it's about the novelty of it. Releasing it is just a ridiculous suggestion

Enlighten me then... What are you going to do with the 1 slot you saved?

If/when trading comes I would be willing to trade him something worth the space for sure just to get closer to a list of 100% mons. I guess it has to do with how much space you have personally.

Don't transfer it! Use it against Dragonites!

The Bite/Ice Beam moveset is slightly better than the current rating because Bite got a power buff, but it's still not as good as Water Gun because it doesn't get STAB. Your Blastoise might see some niche offensive gym usage against Dragonite or something, but definitely not worth powering up IMO.

More than likely just a trophy case Pokemon, but a pretty cool one at that. Blastoise is my favorite starter, so I'm definitely jealous of the 100% :)

Thanks for the tips guys. I will definitely keep it as I only have 3 perfect mons and plenty of space. But I won't use any dust on it under the current meta for its move set. Maybe in the future it will have a purpose.

I also have a perfect Blastoise, my first perfect mon, with WG/Psychic. I use it for prestiging sometimes but it isn't as good as the 25 vaporeons I have, so it is mostly a trophy. I wouldn't waste any stardust on it.
