Is there any good Gen2 mon?

Do you have any idea which of the newly added Gen2 pokemons would be sort of useful in the Gym system?
Other than Blissey, of course...

I'm stocking up on a teddiursa nest. Hopefully they are useful. Haven't powered any up to try yet. Have you used ursaring?

Same here, have a nest so hording daily is my plan. My motivation rose a like a rocket today when i catched a low level 100% teddyursa. Finger crossed later on in the move-lottery

I've got a 98% Ursaring with Counter / Close Combat. Is this a good moveset?

i haven't used ursaring yet. For a giant bear, his defense is not that good. he's comparable to a machamp or exeggutor: high attack, sucky def and above average hp - ok decent hp.

Thanks for your ideas! How do you know?
I'm lvl 34 and more interested in the defenders for now...
PoGo would be insanely fun with all this variety if there would be some PvP system... not that Niantic would care but...

i have a spreadsheet that has all of the move combinations for each mon. then i insert a defensive stat - say...150 (IV included - and this variable is adjustable in one cell), and then the CP I want targeted - say 2500 (also adjustable), and it will show me the DPS of the attack vs a non-super effective mon (with 150 def). I mostly created it to find good prestigers but its also useful to see who the good high CP mons are too. Although I haven't done anything to calculate how good the moves will be defensively.

While creating this, I always wondered why attacking mons had their CP valued so high - compared to def and stamina. Then I realized that if def or stamina were highly valued - then blissey's level would probably be over level 9000! (ok that's a joke) But this basically just meant that the CP is basically just a gym format and not the usefulness of a mon vs another mon - which I thought it was at first. and if you already knew that, then good for you all.

So in realizing this, I am embarking on discovering an all-inclusive stat that will tell you the effectiveness of a mon - and not this CP garbage.

Well, i see you are prepared! My spreadsheet is only about my mons and their IVs. :D
However i've never taking much care on attackers (until now Blissey). Always carrying some good counters for Vaporeons, Dragonites and Snolax and that's it. And i prestige with the mid level disposable IV mons that i capture in the day...
So, what do you thing would come as a good defender from this Gen2?

I'd like to clarify since the guy who asked mentioned "useful" scizor, heracross and tyranitar are pretty much as "useful" as rhydon and gyarados when defending.

For their stats and the current meta (Water dominant) I would say that Houndoom and Typhlosion are more offensive mons in my opinion than defenders. They are more similar to Arcanine or Charizard.

Tyranitar with Bite + Stone Edge is going to be an amazing attacker.
