Gym placement strategy.

You should place your best Pokémon with the best movesets in the most highly contested gyms you battling back and forth over, win the battle of attrition. Less contested gyms, just get in them.

I just love to attack.... So I place any pokemon that I'm going to transfer... I'm a single player so my game play is taking down the GYMs and don't bother what pokemon to put in GYM.... Just collecting coins...

Yeah that's what I am... But if I saw a GYM with High level and same team as I am... Then I'll put my highest CP mon... But L10 GYM in our area is very rare... No team last long in a GYM... That's how active trainers play here...

Well, no shit that your gyms don't get to level 10 if you place a Weedle in it in the first place.

I just don't get why people would do this and it annoys me so much when I see it. I understand that your area is very competitive, but I'm sure you have a couple good Vaporeons or Exeggutors. So why not just place those as defenders? Makes no sense.

I understand people wanting to save revives, but if turnover is SO high and no gyms last, do people even run out of revives (you can't drop 10 mons in 10 gyms before getting knocked out)?

I have tossed out revives before since I tend to swap out before getting knocked out, and if you aren't getting 10 gyms getting constantly knocked out, I'd assume you'd have tons of revives stocked up (assuming you're level 28+ or so when revives aren't an issue anymore).

I do find it annoying as well, but luckily, I save all P/BS Jigglys which can handle most low CP trash due to simply having higher HPs.

I usually aim for highest 9th and 10th spot. I have 10+ gyms daily

The other way around. Strong, low CP defenders in highly contested gyms (Poliwrath, Wiggly, Clefairy, Omastar). High CP glass cannons in safe gyms (Vap, Gyarados, Dragonite). Tier 1 for anything in between.

Vaporeon – still useful defending, WP and AT is good, HP can let attackers to "temporarily faint".
Dragonite – strong with SW, one of the best defending move.

Clefairy – should be corrected into Clefable.
Omastar – are you crazy? There is an obvious double weakness to grass!

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Nevertheless, either throw your highest CP mon in there (moveset is irrelevant) or your highest CP with perfect moveset (A 2900+ Snorlax ZH/HB or BS).

Everything else is just useless.

Even then, there is no "excellent" mon for gum placement. Throw a 3500 Dragonite, a 3200 Snrolax, and anything else in there....best movesets, perfect IV...if someone wants to take it down it's just a matter of time. If a group want to take it down then it's a joke.

The truth is: THERE ARE NO DEFENDERS in this game, period! Blissy is probably going to change it if/when we finally can get one.
