Pokemon Rarity

Hi, is there an agreed classification of pokemon by rarity including evolved forms? I know that pidgey, rattata etc are common but what falls into rare and ultra rare? Presumably Dragonite is "ultra rare" but what about Dragonair? I guess this is in the code somewhere but I can't find a definitive list. Thanks! Rob

No real classification out there, in general fully evolved mons are pretty rare, and there are several other rare pokemon like lickitung, chansey, tangela, hitmonlee, hitmonchan, lapras, snorlax, aerodactyl, then its the regionals, then there are some more common pokemon that are just not nest pokemon like grimer, dratini, koffing, porygon

It also depends where you are. I've caught a couple of Hitmonlee and almost a dozen Porygon, but never seen a wild Snorlax and only one Lapras. Other people find a few Snorlax but no Porygons.

Totally agree, it depends on your location for sure, for a lot of people chansey, koffing, grimer and tangela for example are ultra rare, it was like this for me but they drop often on my town since like 3/4 months ago, I have 6 muks with a lot spare grimer candy, 20 weezings, 27 tangelas and 15 chanseys.

In my case the only mon I have never seen in the wild at this point is Lapras, and I don't think never one has spawned here, we have river but not beach.

The others ultra rares for me are Aerodactyl (only 1 seen and caught in the wild), Dragonite (3 seen in the wild 0 caught, I have 4 evolved) and Porygon (6 seen and all them caught).

Keep looking for Lapras - my only sighting (and thankfully capture) was in a suburban area no where near the river and over 7 miles from the coast.

Aerodactyle, Snorlax, Dragonite, Chansey and Tangela remain on my only hatched and never seen list.

After all this months I have totally lost my hope on seeing one :(. I really wish I could see one some day. At least you got him, congrats ^^

6 muks?? I've been walking mine for almost 200km. I would love to catch some grimers to cut down on walking.

Yes, I do have 6 muks and 103 grimer candy so I could evolve 2 more (but don't have more high IV grimers), one of the 6 was caught directly on the wild, the others are evolved, I also walked my grimer for a time but on the last months grimer has become more common to me.

This is probably intentional to encourage traveling to other cities to see different rare pokemon. If you are just playing in one area, nests will rotate but the general biome will always be the same. You need to "Go" to new places to really change what you see.

Never seen a Grimer, Dratini, Porygon, Jynx, or Aerodactyl. Only got Lapras and Tengala through hatching an egg. Up until last week, I had never seen Snorlax in the wild, but caught 2 of them in a couple of days. I think that some of it is luck and some of it is location.
