So tonight I caught some spoofers leveling up one of my gyms in a park with no one around. I had suspected one of them of spoofing for awhile so took down the gym and waited. Three Chanseys eventually appeared out of nowhere. I then noticed I was suddenly losing all of my gyms at the same time. Some were 20 miles away. Three Chanseys appeared in each one. At first I thought it just the same three a holes. Unfortunately it wasn't. So now I am dealing 10 spoofers and they are targeting me. It was more than a little fishy that level 10 gyms with the same people kept appearing all over town but cheating of this magnitude was completely unexpected. Assuming they don't get banned how can I begin to complete with this? Now I see why so many people quit in my area.
The trainer names may have been different at each of the gyms, but given the identical and oddly specific behavior at each gym, there's a decent chance this is one person using multiple accounts. It can't hurt to report, and be as thorough with the details as you can.
I'm curious, though : you said that 3 Chanseys appeared in each gym, some of which were 20 miles away. How were you able to observe this?
Either ten spoofers or a smaller number of players with multiple accounts. Anyway, must be a true pain to face.
As discussed in an earlier thread, the illicit virtualization (GPS spoofing) of PoGo that Niantic seems to have major difficulties to counter brings forward new gaming strategies. Indeed, people who goes virtual (i.e., spoofers) play a very different game than us walkers, where the formation of coordinated spoofer attacks require much less effort than for a team of legit players to meet up to walk around and bring down gyms.
They'll probably get bored eventually and move onto another location. Just report them and keep taking the gyms back.
I don't understand why anyone has such low self-worth that they feel they need to cheat at the game. They're either lousy players who can't do well playing fairly or morally deficient scum who feel it's perfectly reasonable to steal on the backs of honest players hard work.

For instance I had a trainer in my area named Jw7ed with a dragonite is almost every Mystic gym. Then I see this post on Reddit with the same player in Illinois doing the same thing.
