Ultra balls Dilema

I have an issue, more than 2/3 of my bag is full of ultraballs. I have 350 items and 235 are Ultraballs, then 68 Max potions and 14 revives (yeah Im lvl 29). Then I have 12 great balls. So I have only 20 spots for incubators, lures, lucky eggs, incience, pokeballs, potion, super potion. I tried to save ass many ultra balls as posible for legendary, but this days I was thinking in throw some great balls. This morning I ended up without any poke ball, and any potion (and my bag full). I really hates to waste a great or an ulltraball in a 10 cp rat, or use a max potion to health some mons that only have 40 damage left, so then I have to throw great balls to try to get some single potion or super potion and then y got full again, waste great or ultra balls in 10 cp rats and birds. I dont have any problem (maybe I am lucky), with catching even 1400 cp pokemons with a single pokeball, I only like to use ultra to make some rare catches (Snorlax, Dragonites, evolved good mons ... ) but that mons are really rare. And I dont want to waste 200 coins in 50 extra slots. Should I trhow all my berries or all my great balls or keep my strategies throw every time I am in a pokestop.

You need to increase your backpack space. I maxed it out to 1000, and it actually changes the way you play and use your resources.

Agreed its a must. Then you can complain about having 500 ultra balls instead lol.

Yeah, that's how it will go. I have 1000 bag space and about 500 ultra balls. I still haven't found a great solution for this in the long term. Once you get too many ultra balls, try to lower your standards if you can, until your ultra balls reach an acceptable level again. If there are some pokemon you would toss a raspberry and lower ball at, try an ultra ball with no raspberry instead.

I do still think that increasing your bag space is a good idea.

Thank you, maybe I will upgrade after reaching again 9 incubators (only 3 left). I collect between 30-50 coins per day. But last two weeks I was so busy and I only colect 30 per day :(

Instead of using Pokeballs or Great + Razz on high CP wild Pokemon use an Ultra instead. It's the same logic as using Hypers / Max Potions on your higher HP Pokemon instead of 10 basic potions or however many it is, so that you can now use those basic potions on your prestigers instead of inefficiently using Hypers.

I had good luck. The last Snorlax and Dragonite I caught were 1900 cp (snorlax) and 2400 cp (Dragonite). Only one berry and one ultra ball. The last Time I use a ultraball was when capturing a wild Wartortle to prestige gyms and I use 3 of them. The thing is that I can capture exeggcutors (very common here) with +1900 cp with only one ball and without berrys. And the frequent spawns here are odish, poliwag, goldeen, staryu, exeggcutes, horseas, bellsprout, doduos, venonat, paras, nidos, rats, birds, worms. "Rares but frecuent" Abras, Growlites, and starters( 2 or 3 every week). 1 snorlax a month, and 1 dratini line evolution a month. I use the ultra balls for that mons but every week I collect around 40 ultra balls and only use 20. Never seen any Lapras, shelder or seel.

For potions I only use big potions when I have to heal more than 100 Hp (two super potions), or when I really want to take down 10 lvl gym. but only my main attackers use them and my prestigers with one super potion + potion are with max health most of the time

No, it is not the same logic, this analogy really sucks. With the potions, you can clearly see how many hp were wasted, healing 40 hp with a hyperpotion - 160 hp overkill.

How would this apply to balls? The chance to catch a pokemon is always lower then 100%, using excellent throw, razberry, curveballs, ultraballs just brings you nearer to the 100%. Taking flee rate into account, using a bigger ball raises your chance to get the pokemon at all.

You can never say, a great ball or an ultraball was wasted completely. This would be the case if there was a possibility to reach 100%, and if these 100% were possible as with a smaller ball than you used.

If you really want a pkm (exeggute, dratini,....), always use berry+biggest ball.
If you do not need a pkm, just catch it for xp and dust, use balls that give you a light green or yellow circle.
If bigger balls stack too much, use them to catch bigger pokemon, if you have to spare them, let the bigger pokemon go or use more of the smaller balls.

Yeah, to save time, just use Ultras on anything yellow+...No need to hoard so many...

I just try to keep upping my bag now if I get close to filling it and try to hoard more potions since prestiging uses a lot.

1) Definitely upgrade your bag space.

2) How many berries and ultra balls does it take to catch a rare must-have spawn like Snorlax or Dragonite? And how often do you see one of those rare spawns?
If I have more than 30 berries and more than 100 ultra balls, I am more liberal with using them on lesser catches. If the colored ring around a crappy pokemon is orange or red, using a great ball or an ultra ball will save me time that I can spend catching other crappy pokemon and walking to pokestops to get more great and ultra balls.

I just don't see what's the point of your style of play to only use balls and not berrys or what not...Balls/Berries are meant to be used and they are so easy to restock...

Even revives are easy for me so I toss those and do gyms daily.

Having gotten a lot of incubators vs storage early on, I'd agree with most folks that upping your storage is far more useful overall.

It's permanent and as great as incubators are early on, after a bit, you mostly just end up hatching crappy things anyways...

I'm more of a save as much time as possible player so even though I have caught 800+ ekans (most common spawn here), I sometimes use Great Balls just to save time...

I spin enough stops to not worry about getting a ball or berry back so just seeing them popping out is annoying and a waste of my time I feel.

Sorry if anyone is rural and don't have many stops close by.

I have a similar situation, but when I run out of regular and great balls, I throw the ultras at whatever I would throw at normally. Hey they're balls, and I hardly ever run into anything I need them for, especially since the starter event got me to practice my curve ball. Similarly, when my bag starts to overflow with max revives, I just attack a few more gyms, or prestige one I've already attacked. I think the purpose of all the crap in my bag is to play the game.

I'll trade a dragonite candy for 25 ultra balls?

Fuck yeah! Dratinis are very rare here. I will trade 150 ultra balls for 6 dratini candies, but I think maybe its a very low rate, maybe 150 ultra for 10 candies worth it even more.
