Which Poliwrath should I power up for Defence
Ok, so ive had a few decent IV Poliwags/Woliwraths, and I think i might power one up for defense.
Which charge move is the main question here really
(since talking about defense here, Bubble is a must obviously.)
And is it worth spending the dust to reach a high CP for a poliwrath defender.
Here are my best options anyway:
Poliwrath - 1381 CP
93% IV: 14 - 14 - 14
Bubble - Ice Punch
Poliwrath - 1374 CP
89% IV: 14 - 13 - 13
Bubble - Submission
Ive read allot of convincing things about all the of the charge moves and what makes them good.
Im actually not too bothered about not having hydro pump even with its massive damage, due to its actual effectiveness vs people who dodge etc
People say Submission is a good option, with its type coverage and stab etc
and others swear by Ice Punch due to its coverage vs his counters and how it will work best against things that will actual target him, which does make allot of sense (it also happens to be my best IV one)
So, what you guys think, which charge move is best and is any of mine actually worth the stardust ?
Cheers

Short answer - do both!
If candy/dust is an issue, I would start with Submission for type advantage against Snorlax and the much-heralded Tyranitar (1.56x, say no more..).
Poliwrath was one of the first mons to really kick my a** before I knew anything about gym battling - so I love powering him up even tho' he doesn't get much love in the gym meta... I'm lucky enough to have all 3 flavors with top-tier IV's, and since there's so long between levels (32) for me now it's no problem to keep bringing them up with me - I love my Fearsome Threesome!!
Good points - if you have no use in mind other then as a defender, then ice counter is probably better - but Submission gives him more flexibility to use as another fighter type since current types have no stamina (if you've already got good fighters, then perhaps better option to just keep Submission at a low CP for occasional prestige back-up).
I use my 2100 ish defenders in selective gyms - where they turn over very frequently (e.g. Stations) and a couple of outlying gyms near where I work. Other gyms require a 2500 defender to get off the bottom two places. Gym cp levels seem very localised.
In terms of which to power up I'd favour ice-punch because I think more attackers will use Eggy/Dragonites against you than Snorlax.
They're both good. I have a 100% Bubble Submission 2285CP one which can hold a gym for a few days. I also use it if I want a Fighting type attacker (as Poliwrath is the best Fighting type attacker in my opinion). Bubble Submission will be even more valuable when Tyranitar comes out (it has weakness to both moves).
That being said, go for the 93% IV one. Poliwrath's Max CP is so low that even with my 100%IV one, its hard to find a suitable gym to place it in (One where all Pokemon are 2100CP+, but Poliwrath can slot into the 6th to 8th spot). Ice Beam is great against Dragonites and Grass Pokemon, both which will often be used against Poliwrath. Go for 93%IV, you need all the cp you can get.
Sad to say but Poliwraths just aren't worth it where I live. CP is way too low. I like variety and I would love to have a use for Poliwraths, but I don't.
Unless you have Stardust to spare, your dust is better spent somewhere else.
But if I had to power one up, I would for sure use the one with the highest max CP potential (typically highest IV). I wouldn't worry too much about moveset as long as it has Bubble.
