Worth it fire Pokémon

Hi.

Is there worth it to put stardust in some fire tipe Pokémon?

If yes, which one:

Charizard wing atack / flamethrower 98 iv 1600cp
Arcanine Fire fang / flame 93 iv (2500cp)
Arcanine bite / Fireblast 82 iv ( 1600 cp )
Arcanine fire fang / fire blast 80 iv ( 1600 cp )

None of them is perfect.

Ps: I have a 2600cp 93iv ember/blast flareon, but I hate him, he is so bad, no sustain, almost full and have 105hp.

Practicality, I'd go with Arcanine. Boasts great stats and decent Stamina compared to the rest. For aesthetics, Charizard. I actually enjoy using him. I have the one with A moveset for defense but it works for me when attacking. Easier to dodge.

Edit: Fixed a typo. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The ones with Bite as their Quick move.

However; if you really want a pure fire type then go with the FF. Bite generates more energy though.

Though, I will go with the Flareon, but only attacks grass.

Lol, my flareon cant take 2 pysch ( exeggutor ). 100 hp when vaporeon has 200 is too bad.

How? My 2043 CP Flareon which I never powered up has 100 hp. I agree it's weak only because Ember is awful. I would guess yours has around at least 120 hp? I would power up both Charizard, but Arcanine is tankier and my choice would be Fire Fang/ Fire Blast or Flamethrower. I know bite may be better for some, but Fire Fang as the best quick fire move is pretty hard to pass up on.

My 82% IV Flareon with 2488 CP only has 105 HP. I think max HP for Flareon is 115.

Flareon 2500 91iv 105hp. I cant use that, better use snorlax ( lick ) to kill exeggutor than this flareon low hp.

In the future, there are strong Steel Pokémon (say Metacross, the Dragonite of gen3) which Dragon and Psychic as well as many other types deal x0.8 to but Fire deals x1.25. Also, in the coming gen2, Scizor is double-weak to Fire.
That gives rise to pure Fire Pokémon - FF+FB/Ft Arcanine or E+FB Flareon.

Let's see if steel Pokemon have any role in gym mechanics first. Scizor is cool, but double weakness to fire may leave it out :(

ATM is not worth it to spend dust on fire types. But if you fancy it, I'd go for 2 fire moves. For the same good reason that bioweapon gave you. Within Pokemon that may learn 2 fire moves, arcanine may be the best choice.

Yes, but like I said: flareon 105 hp too weak.

I dont know if FF/FT arcanine is worth it to keep Power up, that is a lot of stardust.

I have Arcanine (B/FB) and i can tell its worth it. It literally can fight everything. Just because bite comes from the dark category.

The bite arcanine for lapras ,if u want to power up a charizard wait for a better move set one

I wouldn't power up more your 2500 arcanine, he is good enough already. I like using charizard and arcanine against snorlax, I don't have any DB dragonite, so if you have the same problem power up the charizard and the bite arcanine.

Similar boat as me I have
- Charizard 96% wing attack, flame thrower
- Arcanine 96% fire fang, flame thrower
Both are my favourite movset for that pokemon. Think I'm going to go for arcanine because of higher hp and double fire attack which is more useful for attacking

Actually Devon, Bite outperforms the DPS of Fire Fang for attacking because of the much higher energy generation. In every relevant matchup, Arcanine with Bite is better than with Fire Fang.

Definitely Bite/Fireblast Arcanine, very useful specially against Lapras.

I know Bite > Fire Fang for Energy Generation.
Which means in most simulators Bite > Fire Fang.

The problem is in RL Situation, you have to consider concepts like "Extra Energy" and "Next Defender"

If you end your battle with Extra Energy Left because of Bite, but the Next Pokemon is Vaperon and your insta switching anyway, that Extra Energy is completely wasted.

In that scenerio, you are wasting the Advantage of Bite (Extra Energy) and still have the disadvantage of Bite (Lower DPS)

Based on common defenders: It's very very rare for me to want to keep Arcanine in 2 battles in a row.

I find a lot of posts on here, tend to look at battles 1-1 without factoring in Energy Carry-over

Bite / Fire Blast Arcanine is the way to go. Arcanine > Charizard and Flareon; and furthermore, any moveset with Bite outperforms Fire Fang -- even against mons who take SE damage from fire attacks.

I'm not sure on this, based on my experience and pokebattler. Both perform very similar with neutral damage and fire fang slightly better when se
