Question on how bad is Flash Cannon?

Just evolved Magneton as a prestiger wanting: Spark/Discharge and ended up with Flash Cannon. I evolved it primarily as a Lapras prestiger, but is Flash Cannon effective against Lapras? Luckily I have a Thunder Shock/ Discharge one I use, but at a lower level/Cp.

Lapras is weak to Electric (discharge) rather than Steel (Flash Cannon).

I've used Magnetons to prestige Lapras but they've got such low HP that even with dodging I normally need more than one.. Electabuzz or Raichu are probably a better options.

Very true. Flash Cannon really is useless isn't it?Sadly getting the right moveset for both Electabuzz and Raichu are so difficult.

Yeah, I got a 98% Magneton and it's just too low HP to prestige against Lapras...Good on paper, but Electabuzz is now my go to against Gyarados or Lapras (Arcanine too).

Flash Cannon has a really long cooldown, so it's not really that good.

Electrode (Spark/Thunderbolt) is the best option for an electric prestiger (i.e. at the same CP, and in the CP 1100-1200 range). Wigglytuff (Pound/Hyperbeam) is also a good option: it lacks type advantage, but apparently is better than any of the electrics (at the same CP) in the matchup against Gyarados (where it also lacks a type advantage). Actually Wiggly might not do as well against Lapras with only ice moves as Electrode, although it would excel against ones with dragon pulse (Fairy resists dragon)

True, I should head to a local Electabuzz nest soon. Wiggly is such a great Pokemon. I only wish she knew body slam instead of Dazzling gleam. Pound+Hyperbeam combined with her HP makes her my go to for just about any high CP prestiging situation.

However Magneton is good against Dragonite with elite dodging.
