Patch 0.53.1
Where can I find the "real" patch notes?

Does anybody have an idea what "Changed distance tracking to better account for GPS drift" means? Will this result in slower breeding if your GPS isn't perfectly accurate?

I just want to say
WTF??
I've been waiting for 3 weeks, only to find this tiny update??
Niantic, you'd better come up with some real hidden updates

Added: Actually, Note 1 and 2 are related - now the only "legit" way left to do GPS shift is wearing Apple Watch and waving your hand. Looks like Niantic is working closely with Apple
It seems odd that they would announce it this way though if that were the case. If it is fixing GPS drift in general, then they shouldn't be announcing it in a way that sounds like they are reducing your ability to hatch eggs. It should instead focus on the good with something like:
-Reduced gym errors due to GPS drift.
Either they are really bad at PR spin (a definite possibility), or GPS drift and gym errors are still there and this is just cutting down on egg and buddy distance.
Well maybe they mean that there will be less of the annoying "You're going too fast" messages when you're just walking around. I think when that happens you don't get credit for the distance you actually walked because the GPS drift makes it seem like you're in a vehicle. So in this respect it would actually help.
Wow. Was not expecting an update as shit as this, tbh.
They better have something hidden coming up. I can wait for Gen 2, but shiny mons would be the very least - people would still bitch about it, but it'd be something new.
Also, GPS drift is how I hatch 70% of my eggs these days as I got exams and not that much time to go out. It'd suck if they somehow fixed that. I mean, what kind of priority is that? Who or what does it benefit?
They've released the update to the Google Play store/Apple store, but it takes some time for those places to authorize it, and even then there may be a staggered release to devices based on geography. Usually Google Play authorizes the update in a matter of hours (Apple takes a day or two), and West Coast gets updates first. Since it's not on APKMirror yet (usually somebody puts it up there as soon as it starts to be pushed), I imagine that means that nobody actually has the update yet for data-mining/making "real patch notes".
