What use a Taurus?

Taurus looks cool. (I have quite a few, unused, in inventory.) What use are they on offense? And what use on defense? The only optimal offense type/move set advantage I have found is to attack a Gengar with a Taurus with Zen Headbutt/Earthquake, a move set that Game Press ranks "BB" (offense "B" and defense "B"). OK, so, given the scarcity of Gengar's in gyms, I need like maybe one Taurus, two at tops, for that. GamePress ranks Taurus' best attacking move set Tackle + Earthquake at "AB". But that is just about Snorlax's worst attacking move set. Taurus seems to be a Snorlax on anti-steroids. But Taurus is still cool. What say you?

Tauros is useless.

You can get cute if you want and use it to prestige but there are better options for any matchup.

Ok. So what is a better option for prestiging against a Gengar? Taurus with Zen Headbutt + Earthquake looks very good for that matchup.

Rhydon with mud slap/earthquake. You could also use gyarados or arcanine with bite (I prefer arcanine).

I don't see too many Gengars around in gyms where I live. To be honest, to give you the boring answer, Gengar is actually pretty easy to beat. You could do just fine prestiging with a Vaporeon...

If you want to get cute and it's interesting to you, then yes, Tauros with those moves is fine. There are also other options once you open the niche:
* Snorlax with Lick / EQ
* Arcanine with Bite
* Gyarados with Bite
* Sandslash with Mud / EQ
* Hypno with ZH / Psychic

You could even use a Dug Trio!

Use them to prestige and then just transfer their corpses when they die. Saves potions.
