Anyone planning on changing teams with the new medallion? Do you think casual yellow team members will jump ship realizing that it’s essentially a bipartisan game? Maybe it’s just me, but most places I go, instinct can’t hold onto gyms meaning less coins, raid balls, and glory.

Of course there are diehards and proud Instincts, myself one of them, but if the only functional purpose of teams is to hold gyms... I can’t help but wonder.

I don’t plan on changing. I don’t think too many instinct will jump ship rather I think it will be some mystic and valor who are sick of over saturated gyms who would go yellow.

Exactly what I'm planning to do: Mystic -> Instinct. I'll wait a whike though to see how things evolve. Full gyms aren't the reason for me, but certain players. If thoose end up on the same team with me after switching, I'd quit the game.

In my area there seems to be largely a red vs blue game, while rarely seeing yellow gyms. When I do see them they are pretty stacked and seem to stay up for awhile...but if I go across the way to my parents town, Instinct will control the entire downtown area for a couple days at a time, which makes me proud as I have been Instinct since day one and remember it being nearly impossible to get a yellow gym up in that area 2 years ago. Overall it seems to me that yellow team is quite capable in my area, so I don't imagine too many switches

I’m not gonna say don’t do it but Just give it a good thinking, even if mystic is most populated and instinct the least, the spread differs from area to area. Be sure you switching won’t backfire and lock yourself off from gyms completely by not finding any empty spaces and no opposing teams to clear your new team out of them. It’s a decision that will take a year to fix if you don’t think this through first.

Instinct pride! Personally I'd never switch, mostly as because we're the minority team, we've gotten to know eachother where I am, and we work together a lot better, plan for raids, take gyms and get coins more reliably, work out coutners for trio/4mans etc. Switching we'd get subsumed into the 100+ other mystic and valor.

I know people who have said they are changing just for raid rewards. The only problem is that this might make some areas oversaturated with one team. Say areas go from 45% mystic, 35% valor and 20% instinct, if it got to 65 or mabe 75% mystic just for raid rewards, its going to be come much more difficult to get coins because people wont be as inclined to take gyms or in some cases cant because every gym is their team color. IMO, the possibilities of a few extra rarecandy not worth possibly 50 coins daily.

I'm Mystic and will likely change over to Instinct to be on the same team as my fiancee. No one in my immediate area really cares who's on what team, people that get obsessive over it weird me out.

It's gonna look weird being on Instinct with the Mystic gym leader clothing tho...

People will remember me in Instinct gyms as the guy in the full on Mystic outfit...

I will always be Mystic because I prefer their philosophy and like blue.

In Singapore, Instinct have a reputation for cheating and red is the national colour.

Always found it equally creepy and pathetic when people get obsessed with the whole team thing ... nothing screams loser like saying or posting things like “Instinct Pride” or “Everyone on Valor cheats”

Nothing screams loser like posting aggressive and rude comments for no reason several times per day on an online forum for a Pokemon game.

Maybe back in 2016 Instinct players would've switched teams but now I don't see a reason (gym-wise). I remember that I wanted to be in a differnt team back when the game came out, because almost no gym was yellow. Now it's way different. Well, at least where I live in...
