End-of-Season Special Research

The Season of Alola is coming to an end with this event, and with this end we can look forward to the promised end-of-season research line. This research line begins June 1, 2022 and will only be available for players who have completed the four seasonal research lines that have led up to this before that date, or players who purchase a ticket in the shop for $4.99. This research line has four branching paths based on the four islands of Alola: Melemele Island, Akala Island, Ula'ula Island, and Poni Island. Each path has its own unique advantages, though we don't know the whole scope of this choice yet.

Melemele Island Path

This path is more focused on growth, as it gives items that are a bit more centered around giving additional bonuses for normal activities. The challenges entailed will be more social in nature, with the examples given being taking snapshots and sending gifts.

  • Players will receive the following items on this path:
    • 4 Lucky Eggs
    • 2 Poffins
    • 1 Lure Module
    • A hat avatar item based on Oricorio - Pom-Pom Style
  • This path will also give an encounter with Alolan Raichu
  • This path is also stated to have more rewards than what we've stated here

Akala Island Path

This path gives players more incentive to travel, as it gives Incense and Incubators and has tasks focused on moving, such as spinning Pokestops and walking specific distances.

    • 1 Incense
    • 1 Super Incubator
    • 2 Incubators
    • A hat avatar item based on Oricorio - Pa'u Style
  • This path will also give an encounter with Alolan Marowak
  • This path is also stated to have more rewards than what we've stated here

Ula'ula Island Path

This path has a bit more of a focus on catching Pokemon than the others, with rewards of Lures and Incense. The tasks will also ask the player to catch specific Pokemon types and perform specific types of throws.

  • Players will receive the following items on this path:
    • 1 Glacial Lure
    • 1 Magnetic Lure
    • 4 Incense
    • A hat avatar item based on Oricorio - Baile Style
  • This path will also give an encounter with Alolan Vulpix
  • This path is also stated to have more rewards than what we've stated here

Poni Island Path

This path has a distinct focus on various forms of trainer battles, and rewards beneficial items such as a Battle pass and a Rocket Radar. The tasks to complete this line will focus on Rocket Leaders and Go Battle League battles, for example.

  • Players will receive the following items on this path:
    • 1 Rocket Radar
    • 1 Premium Battle Pass
    • 3 Starpieces
    • A hat avatar item based on Oricorio - Sensu Style
