Overview
Tangela’s defense stat is surprisingly high - its mass of vines must be effective at shielding the creature hiding inside. It's defensive typing, on the other hand, has 5 weaknesses. Fortunately for it (and unfortunately for you), 4 of those types have uninspiring attackers. Therefore, the best way to beat Tangela is to roast it with Fire.
Most players will be relying on an army of Flareon to win this raid. Tangela’s power is pretty run of the mill, but such teams should be prepared to dodge if Tangela is weather boosted or packing Sludge Bomb.
Approach
Team composition
-
Tangela has many weaknesses, but Fire-types are the bread and butter
-
Some options are borderline viable at L40 (Victreebel, Pinsir, Dragonite)
Dodging strategy
-
Teams relying on Flareon, Blaziken, Gengar should incorporate dodging
-
Sludge Bomb can pose a threat to teams using none or few legendaries
Note: Good movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
