Your team against Ho-Oh with SoB
Who will be on your team against this beast? Is it Zapdos and dragons all the way?

For those of you who want to get a sense of how fighting Ho-Oh feel like, just consider that it is as Bulky as Lugia but a lot more damage will be dealt to you.
If it is a Steel Wing + Solar Beam Ho-oh, then rock types are off the table. Dodging isn't realistic since dodge bug exists in Raid Battle: if the non-dodged damage would have killed you and you dodge, you'll get it for sure. A non-dodged Solar Beam from Ho-Oh kills any Golem/Omastar. Tyranitar might stand a chance, but some sereral other Steel Wings will finish you off soon.
The best option is Zapdos. Second best is Hydro Pump Gary. Dragonites works well, too. Other options are then far from optimal. You may choose Vape. She can survive one non-dodged Solar Beam (hence possibly no dodge bug) while resisting Steel Wing. But still the Solar Beam is deadly to her. Jolteon is a less bulky Zapdos but still OK since he also resists Steel Wing.
If it is a Extrasensory + Solar Beam Ho-Oh, then Tyranitar is on the table. I'm also looking at Houndoom with Double Dark Moves. It'll be useful again when raiding Mew(too) and Celebi in the future.
With this level of rare candy it's not far fetched for me to say I'll have 4 Zapados for him. The other stuff I have too. If folks aren't in an incredible raid area he's going to be incredibly tough.
I'm not sure that as a group when that's the case we won't have to run high DPS stuff and die and come back. Or the timer will kill us all.
A lot of these things that resist HP just won't get the job done in limited groups. A pack of Lugia and Kingdras isn't going to cut it in my area. We are a small group and we cannot rely on others to kill it for us because we are 20 deep like other places. We are lucky to have 10 trainers at a raid so layup options with junk DPS won't work and those would die too; resisting be dammed. We would all just get nothing.
Lol. This thread is hilarious.
Y'all downvote the guy that will run optimal counters and die to gift you this mon?
Because you aren't earning it with this trash that "survives" you're suggesting. With the dodge bug they won't even perform better for the most part. I guess if 20 are in every raid you do then yes, maybe you should peek outside of the box. If you have limited trainers at a raid this thread is straight up full of terrible advice unless your plan is to have another trainer gift a mon go you.
If your raid groups are 20, fine.
If not you're an ass for running some of this trash.
Other folks will run optimal counters and die and come back to gift you this mon.
