Your Favorite part of this week thus far
So whats your favorite part of this Kanto event so far?
This event, has been less than a week and already has been fantastic. Tyrantiar's dominance in the legendary raids is back, machamp's dominance at tier 4's has remained strong (plus all the wild machop make it so needing to do those raids for good iv machamp a nonissue) and having legendaries that are actually worth going for. For me its been all the wild dratini, chansey and lapras for candy farming all the pokemon i've been lacking in. Have a hundred IV lapras i've been wanting an excuse to power up, been lacking in defenders with a sub 1900CP blissey and a 93% chansey I hatched, and been needing to get my dragon types up there in the levels for gen IV/Rayquaza. (all of which will be traded for boosted candy)
Plus theres fire types literally everywhere making those silver pinab research ridiculously easy. What has been your guys favorite parts of the event? And do you think they'd do something like this for Johto and Hoenn down the line?
Answers
Caught loads of Chansey, not seen too many Dratini though. That, & the new raid timers the best part for me, much easier to drop on the tier 3's driving around now, 15 mins not too long to wait & the extra time on the boss itself most welcome. I think they will do more of these events for gen 2 & 3, if they throw in a couple of decent spawns like they have here I'm sure they will be a hit. My least favourite part are the 7km eggs, no regionals hatched yet & the usual Alolan rubbish, 2 vulpix was nice but already had a couple, will keep hatching em tho & hopefully something good will show up before the event finishes.
Positives for me;
Picking up more chansey candy. Caught a weather boosted 93% Chansey to top it off. Now i have a 2900 Blissey to annoy gym attackers that cost zero stardust.
Caught a shiny Geodude.
Smack Down Tyranitars getting a good workout.
Machop candy is very welcome for my plans to have a machamp army
The novelty of seeing Wild Lapras. Hadn't seen one for about a year.
Negatives;
They've taken away absol from raids. Some of us don't have a shiny.
Regirock still exists.
I would still rather have the previous event, purely for the bonus stardust.
Tangela! First time i seen wild Tangela! Now the only mon i never find in wild is Bagon. Alaso like Dratini- every day finding minimum 2. Chanseys also welcome, along with Lapras.
Raid timer is great for organizing raids. Duoed Moltres pretty easy in Partly Cloudy, was fun.
Also like Magnemites everywhere, cause i still havent 90+ IV to evolve in Magnezone. Havent lucky to both- geodude and grimer with shiny, but still have hope.
What i dislike is T3 Bosses. Hitmons are useless, have 3 Perfect Zams + 2 x 98IV Lucky Abras, so no any reason to doing him and i have risk to lose pass. Only Scyther looks good, but with Birds everywhere, i dont see reason to do t3 solos now.
The uptick in rare/unusual spawns has been very welcome. From Chansey, Lapras, and Dratini being more common to seeing things like Hitmonchan pop up with semi-regularity have made the event pretty fun. I like the shortened egg timer and increased raid clock, I think whenever they have more than one T5 boss in the mix that this needs to be a staple.
EDIT: Another part of this event I liked was bagging a 100% Articuno, making it my first hundo legendary.
My only big complaint has to do with RNG and not the event itself - after 40+ Moltres encounters I still haven't seen a shiny! Admittedly some of those were from last summer and 4 from research, but I've never had luck this bad with shiny legendaries before.
Favorite part: all the Rhyhorns and Magnemites around to get candy and mon for Gen 4. Second favorite part: lotsa fire pokemon for the silver pinap quest, and then lots of Tangela (got a 100%), Kabuto, Omanite, and to a lesser extent, Machamp, Charmander, and Magikarp. Dratini raids and wild spawns would be nice if I weren't already set on Dragonites.
