Would you wait to power up 98% Raikou?

I was super lucky to catch a 98% 1906 Raikou on first and only raid today. My first impression is to use rare candies to either power to level 30 or max to my level 37, than I thought that would suck to catch 100% even though realistically it means nothing it's more psychological. It happen with Moltres caught 96% and 2 days later caught 100% especially since around for month and I'll continue to raid Raikou obviously. Should I wait until weekend ends? End of month? Or power him up?

I think Raikou is not necessary right now, it's the best electric type, but electric attackers are not relevant, maybe when the third gen comes they will be

What would you use him on before end of the month? Play around with the level 20 one taking down some gyms. I'm waiting for one with TS/wc to take for a test drive.

I assume this Raikou has a 14 attack IV, because my 98% Raikou is CP 1909 (15A/14D/15S). A 100% IV Raikou would be a little better than the one you have now, as would a 98% with a 15 attack IV, and arguably even a 96% with a 15 attack IV.

You've got a great pokemon there, but if you are going to continue to raid Raikou, there is a reasonable chance of getting a better one, so I see no reason not to wait until the end of the month.

Man that's awesome good for you. And here I thought I was lucky when I caught a 91 iv one earlier 15a/11s/15d with thunder shock wild Charge. Oh well I'm lucky enough there's always gonna be someone more fortunate.

It was my third try to catch a Raikou. My first had CP 1913 (i.e. 100% IV's), and I failed to catch it. The second was around 1870, and my heart wasn't really in it, after losing the perfect specimen, and I failed again. I was very happy to get the 1909 on the third try.

Other than that, I have a 91% Articuno, and all of my other legendaries (out of 11 total) are 82% or lower.

Yep. 1906 is 14a/15d/15s.

Unless you are wanting to take this bad boy for a ride against some of the lingering legendary bird raids, I would wait.

I had a 98% ttar lined up to power up when I went to a raid and got a perfect one. So, regret is still possible, but the practical difference between a 98 and a perfect is very very close to zip. Do want makes you happy.

Thanks for the replys, I love using him in gyms such a tank with TS/WC. He does fine at level 20, I'll hold off most likely until the end of the month to power him up.
