Would you like Status Conditions introduced?

With a chance to be inflicted by Charge moves of specific types. Poison and Burn causing damage over time, the latter also reducing attacks and giving reason to leave Fire types on defense (along with FB T-rex everyone hates so much). Paralysis would make 'mons randomly miss a hit or dodge and Confusion to damage themselves on attack (with fixed amount of damage, like in the original series). Freeze might slow its movement (unless they use Fire moves or something) and Sleep to skip one or two attacks, though these conditions aren't so necessary. I don't think conditions should heal on switching if the chance of inflicting them is like 20% or less, or attackers would just switch all the time. Ending a gym battle would automatically remove the conditions. Then we'd see a whole host of species on defense, even "glass cannons", and people would have to attack towers in groups, as it was intended, or choose types immune to conditions - finally type immunities would have a place in the game. I believe there are more effects of attacks in the original series, such as Flinch (Pokemon skips its next move, would be caused by Crunch, making it even more annoying) and Bound (I believe it causes damage over time but here it can make a 'mon unable to switch out, Vice Grip would be more useful that way).

They dont need telling, they already know. So do most players who have played the main series.

It's a key part of the combat in those games so they know its a big deal.
Its just if and when they develop it for pokemon go

L/BS Snorlax would be a nightmare to fight as both moves have a chance of paralysis in main series games. I have one ^_^

But if implemented correctly with a rebalance it could be pretty awesome. Definitely throw off these noobs who only know PoGo but nothing about Pokemon.

Lick shouldn't have an effect 'cos it's spammy, it's just not fair on attack. Body Slam, yes. And everyone would start loving Discharge Jolteon if it caused paralysis. Even pathetic bugs with Cross Poison will have their use. Along with Steel types resisting poisoning.
Prestiging might become a nightmare tho. But it needs some changes too, keeping tons of prestigers makes one's space too crowded. Maybe they need to bring back the old way where you prestige with one pokemon, but you wouldn't have to beat them all, just 3-4 for a decent portion of prestige.

Poison needs this the most. Without the chance to poison, those monsters are a bit useless.
