Would you hatch your 9th 10k?

I saved up 10ks for months and finally got my ninth like 3 weeks ago. I was hoping a double dust event would come soon (not just for catching) but looking at the calendar on previous events it could be months, maybe even July, until we get a true double dust event again. I am considering using my unlimited incubator to hatch my 9th 10k and then hope to get another one in time for the next double dust event so I can keep getting dust from that incubator. However, having exactly nine 10ks to hatch during an event feels really cool so I kind of don’t want to. Would you guys hatch the 9th 10k?

Also I’m not necessarily wasting much distance because I’ve been playing my girlfriend’s account for her to and from work, which is when I get most of my walking distance.

I have 8x 10k for weeks. Maybe months. Waiting for a dust event. If i get 9. 10k i just hatch one and keep going. Its not worth waiting.

I also have nine 10km eggs and has been wondering whether or not to hatch them.

I would of course like to do it when there's a double dust event, but seeing as we probably won't be getting that for quite some time I see no reason to hold on to my current eggs and miss out on other hatches.

I had hoped to see double dust for everything during the Community Day, but we only get for catches then. Guess we can't be too greedy ;)

There will however probably be a Valentines Day event soon and if it is anything like the one last year, then we might atleast get double candies. So I will hatch my eggs then.

If there's no Valentines Day event, then I'll probably hatch my eggs as soon as possible.

The community event on Feb 24 is x3 dust, but only for 3 hours. You would have to get premium incubators and maybe partially walk them to have them all ready to hatch at once.

Community event has 3x stardust for catching only. You're going to want to use star pieces because of that so it's not a bad time to hatch eggs, but you'll only get 1.5x dust for them compared to 4.5x for catching.

I tried building up 9x10k eggs by refusing to walk them. It took about six weeks then I walked 8 of them and started again. It took six weeks the second time as well. I probably average about 4-5km per day. Not sure if that helps but it at least gives one example of a timeline. I don’t buy incubators.

We don't even know when the next double dust event is going to be, it could take months. Not worth saving the 9th 10k, just hatch it.

Be careful with this strategy. If there is a special hatch bonus, it only applies to eggs caught during the event.

If you mean stardust, candies or exp, you are wrong. The game doesn't care when you got the egg, just that you hatch it during the bonus period.

Hatch it. You're not losing much by hatching 8 10ks and a 2k or 5k instead of 9 10k eggs, but you're losing out on more dust by holding 9 eggs and not hatching any of them, assuming you move between now and the next double candy / dust event.

Between now and the next event you could have hatched one 10k egg and several 2s and 5s that would have gotten you more dust than one 10k that has double dust.

Definitely this, it's just very simple math.
Hatch during double stardust event with star piece gives 2*1.5=3 times more star dust, so if you expect to walk more than 30km before event you'll win by hatching it right now.
Since I drift a lot I even hatch 8th 10k when I get it, otherwise I loose a lot of distance.
