Would you evolve this dratini ?

CP 89 L4 IV95.6 A15/D13/S15

I aleady have a few good dragonites and "candies" is not an issue. If the answer is yes, would you power it up, change movesets etc ? Tks

If dratini candy isn't an issue, finding a higher level also won't be an issue.

Stardust cost from Level 4 to 20 is still nothing compared to maxing it out. You'll spend more going from 33-39; "half the levels" than 4-20 if you were to have hatched it.

I have a 12CP L1 97.8%IV 14HP/15ATK/15DEF Dratini and intending to evolve it and max it out as my long term goal. So go ahead if you really want to, instead of sitting around waiting for that "distant promised better one" that might drop from the heavens.

I personally wouldn't if you already have a few good ones, due to the stardust cost. Soon enough there will be Dragonite raids and you'll probably get a better L20 one.

I don't see why everyone's so against it. Unless these "few good Dragonites" can really stand up to an HP/ATT 96%er then I would go ahead with making it elite. Level 4-20 isn't much stardust, and we have no confirmation regarding Dragonite raids at all.

If it was for a first Dragonite I'd take it up to L30, but he says he already has a few good ones. In my mind that means at least 3. I'd rather spend the 43400 dust to get it to L20 and then 75000 to get it to L30 elsewhere. Plus he's inferred that he would need to use TMs on it to get the preferred moveset.

If his luck with Dragonite evolutions is as good as mine, then it will definitely get Steel Wing or Hyper Beam, with a 50% chance that it gets both. I think it is a good idea to assume you will need to use TMs, then be pleasantly surprised if it gets a good moveset.

Pokedex shown I caught/hatched 320 dratini's. Highest IV is 97.8 and this little guy is the second highest. Powering up from 4 to 20 does take 45500 dust though!

As a collector, I would. If you get a better Dratini / Dragonite, so what? It doesn't make this one useless, then you have 2.near perfect Dragonites, plus with candies not being an issue you could power them both.

Hold onto that Dratini for now, I'd say. Even if Candies aren't an issue, I'd wait until the Raid Bosses change - if they don't include Dragonite, then come back and reconsider. 123 Candies to power up a Dratini to Dragonite, then the metric butt-tonne of candies and stardust to raise it up to a useful level could be a challenge. And an 82IV Attk 15 Dratini at Level 20 is not significantly more powerful than yours raised to Level 20, so that could be something like 150 candies spent to get a Dragonite that can last for 2 more Quick Attacks. Not exactly a great investment, regardless of how many candies you have.

I'd also hold onto it until we get a definitive answer on Breeder; I'm personally keeping a few Female Dratini around with high IV's for potential breeding purposes. (For example, if it's possible for a Dratini to breed with a Dratini to get a 10km Dratini egg. This is the only Pokémon game I've ever played, so I have no idea if that was possible in other games.)

Yes. I actually already did evolve one like yours. It was just >100 CP, a couple of levels higher than yours. 96% 15attack. Now he is my highest CP pokemon. I stopped around 3250 CP, but I may max it out in a near future.

PS. For me candy and stardust wasn't as abundant, but I managed to collect it over time to power it up

Thanks to event which there are so many dratini hatches, I now have 759 candies. No complaint, but somehow need to spend them somewhere.
