Would this idea work for Gym and Stardust rework?
What do you think about this idea to get Gym Competition back again?
Yes we all want our Pokecoins back to 100 every 20 hours BUT we also want Stardust so I think I think this would be a more realistic idea that Niantic may be into. When you reach Gold Status in a gym the XP gain you wold receive in that gym turns into Stardust. For Example.
God Badge Gym Rewards:
Feeding a gym Pokemon a berry 10 Stardust max of 30.
Placing a Pokémon in a gym 100 Stardust
Defending a gym 1 Stardust per minute per defending Pokemon
Winning a raid battle at that gym 1000 Stardust
Would you all become active in the Gym scene if this was the case?

I think the 1 Stardust per minute would be far, far too much - defend for 1 day, get 1440 Stardust? Way too much.
Better to have it go at the same rate as the Coins, but not be capped - so if you hold a gym for 24hrs, you get 144 Stardust. If you hold 2 gyms for 24hrs, you get 288 Startust. If you hold 5 gyms for 24hrs, you 720 Stardust. Etc.
It's not a LOT of Stardust, and doesn't replace the old rewards, but it's probably more doable under the new system.
Just to be clear, you are talking about the badge XP, which is currently meaningless after you reach gold. (Not the player XP, which we would still receive.)
As far as "I want free stuff" posts go, it seems pretty reasonable at first pass. Winning a raid is the best way to earn badge XP, and that would only be equivalent to the stardust for catching 10 pokemon.
Earning a gold badge takes some time. But then feels like there is no real benefit. After I got a gold badge at the gym nearest to me, I've started spreading out to other gyms and I haven't really bothered with my gold gym anymore.
