Worth having multiple Steelix?

I’ve got a 100% IV Steelix powered up to level 34. With the adventure week research tasks, I’ve gotten a lot of Onix candy and 93% Onix, 15-13-14. Thoughts on if there is really any point in having multiple Steelix, or should I just put my candies toward slowly maxing the 100%?

Honestly, it's not really worth even having one Steelix.

While he makes an adequate gym defender, he's pretty much useless as an attacker. I would just leave things as they are for now; don't invest any more resources in any Onix/Steelix.

Steelix gains a mega evolution later on down the line which may change things, but that's a long way off.

Just keep it just in case it gonna be relevant someday
But if you really like steelix, power up the 100% should be fund

I think it all depends on your resources. If you’re more of a casual player, then you’re probably more limited. Therefore, I’d invest in mons you need for raids and such. But if you’re a hardcore player and have the resources, then I’d vote for just maxing out the 100%-er. It’s a cool defender to put in when the blissey/chansey/snorlax spots are taken. I’d save the 93.3% onix for like a possible community day event in the future or somethin. Just speaking from personal experience 😉

I’m probably somewhere in between casual and hardcore, but I have a pretty solid team for most gym and raid situations by now. I agree with Skywalkered that there are other priorities far before Steelix, but dust isn’t too much of a concern for me and I don’t have the candies to keep going with my top guys right now.

I guess I’ll creep the 100% toward max and hold onto the Onix just in case. I’ll have a mini team of perfect steel mons with Aggron and Metagross. Could be fun for a couple of the Regis when they come.

I have a perfect lvl 32 Steelix with bad moves. As much as I want to transfer it along with all the other autoselect ''survival'' Pokemon, I can't bring myself to do it. I'm just going to keep it on the bench with all my other useless 100% (barring Sceptile).

Never transfer that, especially if you put resources into it. The moves don’t matter much in any case. Offense is out of the question, defense, Steelix is more of a “speed bump” as some put it

I really like Steelix so I would max the 100%IV. Putting the specific mon aside, I would recommend maxing a perfect IV over having several boosted mons of the same species.

I have a maxed 98%, interesting for gyms once I get my coins, but not too terribly useful.
