Worst Go Experience.

In my playing days i have many memories of GO. Some were not good. Some of the bad ones;

-Missed a wild Golem in the games first week. The game was very laggy back them and it kept glitching until it had despawned.
-Travelled far to a Bulbasaur nest, that turned out to be a load of grotty residential homes, not a Pokemon in sight. Complete waste of a day.
-Visited a park because of a nest and got accused of being a paedophile by some random adult there.
-Was unable to catch a wild dratini because the area it was in got cordoned off, owning to a bomb threat. This threat was a complete hoax.
-Evolved a 100% eevee into Umbreon
-Missed my first Mewtwo (oct 1st.) this was bad not just because i missed it but because i'd sacrificed a weekend away for it. The group that was there were my nasty local group that i couldn't get on with, i would have preferred to spend that time with friends. I was already burned out of GO and this incident was a the final straw in pushing me into retirement!

What are your bad ones?

Transferring my starter

I paid so little attention to my starter I can't even remember what I chose. I didn't even want to play PoGo. Two coworkers convinced me to download the app. Within two days I had surpassed them, and I was the first L40 Mystic player in my town. The obsession continues, though sometimes I have no idea why.

Some of Mine.

When the buddy system came out I walked Machop to work and back (3 mile trip both ways) took about a month to get enough candy for an evolution and got Bullet Punch and Heavy Slam....

There was a Civil War in our Mystic group that caused us to split into two groups. The other group took to spoofing and botting and they would take gyms and build them up to 7, 20,000 prestige and stay there so that we couldn't get into the gym unless we prestiged it 10,000 more for spot 8 and it was during a heavy revive drought so i couldn't get any gyms...

I was randomly surrounded in a parking lot in Walmart by 3 police cars demanding me to empty my pockets and give them my finger prints because people thought I was going threw peoples cars and taking pictures of kids when I was trying to catch pokemon.

My nasty local group was full of keyboard warriors who never say a word to your face.

A trend among GO players that? Or is it a thing among people generally with all the social media where anyone can act hard.

Just last night this happened. 2621 is perfect. I had no idea. I had 14 balls. I threw 8 pinaps before my buddy said his 2590 was 89% so I knee mine had to be good. I started in with the golden razz, but I had messed around too much and I lost it.

oh. my. god. that hurts me to read it. i don't have any perfect t4s or t5s. that dwarfs my worst miss or mistaken transfer.

Crikey that sounds like some nightmare before xmas?
Well for me the strangest occurance was lapras spawning just beyond the edge of a jetty. Literally just beyond range. Like why the.... and there were people angling arms and stretching tryna get it to pop up onscreen. Most succeeded in getting it to do so but one guy lost his footing and fell in. Thankfully it was low tide and he was a decent swimmer ?.

I walked a 98% Larvitar 465km only to get a Tyranitar with Iron Tail/Fireblast. Thankfully, the later introduction of TMs made it all better but I was stuck with a horrible reminder in my inventory for a couple of months.

I also travelled to a Bulbasaur nest that turned out to be a dud. They were very rare in my town and got wind of an awesome nest that I checked out on tracker maps beforehand and which looked to be great. Spend about two hours there and only caught a couple (three encounters, one ran). Like a week or two later, a decent nest finally popped up in my local town.

A streak of unlucky catches that happened a week ago: A Tyranitar that bounced all my balls despite i already curveballed it when it attacks, a grovyle fleeing instantly after a razz and an ultra then finally a mudkip that fled after 2 razz + ultra combos.

My most cringe worthy Pogo experiences are reading some of the winey-complainey posts on this site.
I've failed to catch 2 100iv legendaries, but that is part of this game. You win some you lose some.
The people who use this site to complain about the game are a total drag.
I can just stop reading, but I do learn a sweet nugget here and there from the trainers on this site who actually know what they are talking about.
I really do appreciate the amazing trainers who contribute knowledge to this forum.

The experience that made me almost quit the game was when a multiple account spoofer crept into our local gyms. In the old gym system trainers could take as many gyms as possible. Every gym was lvl 10 full of blisseys. It was simply horrible. Many trainers in our local area did quit. The only thing that took down this spoofer was the new gym system.

A few moderately bad ones:

-Wild Dragonite showed up on sightings in a foreign city I was visiting, the only one I've ever seen. I had just finished having a couple of beers at a brewpub, and was waiting for the waitress to bring my tab, but I couldn't get her attention. After finally paying and getting out of there, I ran in every direction hunting for it, for about five minutes until it despawned. At the time (November 2016), spawns only lasted 15 minutes. The very next day, Niantic introduced the pokestop-based tracker, which would have shown me right where to go for the Dragonite.

-Caught a level 27 100% wild Dratini at my house, and eventually accumulated enough candies to evolve it. My previous Dragonite evolution (93%) had evolved with SW/HB, and I would have been OK with anything but that. Again, I got SW/HB. I was heartbroken. To prove to myself how bad it was, I put it in a gym (old system), and prestiged against it with a CP 1160 DB/B Kingdra, which took down the CP 2700+ paper dragon without difficulty. Fortunately, TM's came out a couple months later, and it now sits as a level 40 CP 3581 DT/O beast.

But the absolute worst, which almost made me quit the game:

For the Valentine's Day (pink) event, Niantic specifically mentioned Chansey as one of the mons that would be spawning more frequently. It was the last mon I needed to complete my gen 1 regional dex, and I loved the idea of catching a wild one. I figured about two hours of hunting would be all I needed. I went out every day of that event, for many hours, and Chansey was nowhere to be found. I was catching Porygons by the dozen, along with wild Wigglytuffs, Slowpokes, etc., but no Chansey. By the second-to-last night, I had become obsessed like Captain Ahab, and was cruising a mall parking lot late at night, when a Chansey silhouette finally appeared on the in-game tracker. I headed towards the pokestop until I figured out that it was in the center of the indoor mall, which was of course closed, because it was 1:00am. I drove around the mall for a good 45 minutes trying to figure out a way to get my avatar close enough to the stop, but nothing worked. I considered everything you can possibly imagine. Eventually, it despawned, and I was just crushed. I thought I might quit the game at that moment. Fortunately, the next night, the last of the event, after another 6-8 hours of hunting, I had a Chansey spawn in a parking lot, and I caught it. It was more a sense of a monkey being lifted off my back than any sort of joy, and even after that success, I wasn't sure this was something I wanted to keep doing. But here I still am.

I love it when it takes seemingly forever to finally have an elusive mon appear, then all of sudden thereafter, it seems to be everywhere.-_-

2 major upset:
- Wakker Lapras 500+ km, only to have it get nerfed right before I wanted to power up
- Wild dragonite spawn (Chile) which gave me error when i clicked it, implying I came across it only a few seconds too late

Spending 20 min, in the rain, speed-walking in circles trying to figure out where a Wild Snorlax was (back when we didn't have any way to know where they were except "Nearby"), only to have a Network Error when I finally found it and tapped on it.

- Powered up my 44% Lick/Hyper Beam Snorlax to L32 instead of my 96% Lick/Hyper Beam Snorlax by mistake.

- Powered up two ZH/BS Snorlax to over 3,000 CP to celebrate Gen2 dropping before I realized gym defenders weren't going to be a thing anymore.

- Came back to my phone to discover a Dragonite IN MY LIVING ROOM, only to click on him and find out he had actually timed out.

- Wasting 6 Charged TMs trying to get Dynamic Punch on my best Machamp only never to roll it, deciding to try one more time, and mistakenly using it on a worse Machamp, and not getting it there either--leaving me with no TMs and two Machamp with Heavy Slam. (The high-level 'champ STILL has Close Combat.)

- Seemingly being the last player in my entire town not to have a Dragonite, at L34 one finally spawned in the wild. I hustled to get it only to find it had less than 200 CP.

- I'm 21 Venusaur in without getting one with VW/SB.
