Windy weather
Has anyone seen an increase in dragon spawns? Is it all smoke & mirrors?
Answers
I don't know if it's all smoke and mirrors, but I've definitely noticed that some things spawn far, far more than others where I am:
-Normal spawns far more than Rock; I can't say for certain that I've seen a Rock-type that was spawned by the weather other than Geodude.
-Poison spawns far more than Fairy, which spawns slightly more than Fighting;
-Grass and Fire spawn about equally, with Ground being far less
-Steel spawns far more than Ice
-Windy spawns far more Flying than Psychic, and Psychic spawns far more than Dragon (which I haven't seen any at all spawn, even in regular Dratini areas)
-Fog has not occurred and Rain only occurred once when I was unable to leave work, so no idea.
Poison seems to be a primary element for those with Poison (Weedle and Roselia in particular), where you are more likely to find them during weather suitable to Poison rather than their other element. Normal seems to be secondary - for example, Jigglypuff spawns more often in Fairy weather than in Normal weather, and the spawns are more powerful.
During my bicycle commute along a certain stretch of bay trail, I used to catch 1-4 dratini a day. Since this "weather-boost" stuff got added to the game, I've caught 0.
I have not been on that trail with "windy" weather, yet. I am looking forward to it but in no way can it make up for all the dratini that I'm not catching. I have plenty of candy to serve my dragonite needs but getting more is always better.
