Will old legendary raids ever return?

Just curious on what everyone thought about this. I think it can be a possibility but then again we probably still have latias and latios plus the 3 golems to go through.

Eventually, I think they will. Maybe during events, or something. Also I'm guessing that when they make a return, their shiny forms will also be released as a way to get people who already have a bunch of them to want to raid them once again.

Niantic brought back Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Lugia for two extra weeks once the week for Zapdos raids was over during the summer. It's definitely possible the other past legendaries can make a return, but maybe for a shorter period of time rather than a month.

They also brought back some of the birds at, iirc, one of the safari zone events.

Ah, yes! Totally forgot they came back for that! I believe it was the Pokémon Festa event in Seoul, South Korea that lasted for two days.

Yes, I am fairly certain they will return at some point.

I don't know how many legendaries there are in the original games, but at the moment we're getting a new one every month, so surely Niantic will run out of legendaries at some point?
The option is then to either stop Tier 5 raids or bring back old ones.

But even before then we will probably get to see the old ones make an appearance, but perhaps for a short time only. Perhaps get the three birds during a couple of weeks or so.

Anyway, I think we'll see them all again at some point.

I think every generation of games has more legends than the generation that came before it.

There are currently 58 (theoreticly 60, but the last two are actually preevos of 2 other legendaries) legendaries in the games, mythical Pokemon included. And we had 11 in normal raids so far (not counting Mewtwo since it‘s an EX-Raid legendary). Niantic still has more than enough room for releasing new ones

It would be a big mistake on Niantic's part not to bring them back. Why would anyone new want to play a game with the motto of "gotta catch em all" if they could never catch em all?

Good to hear that there is still hope for me to catch moltres (one of my all time favorite legendary next to rayquaza and giratina) I started playing pokemon go again when Ho-Oh was around. I was so sad to find out the 3 birds passed.

Same here. I quit a week after the current gym system was introduced, then resumed playing during the Halloween event. Managed to catch a Raikou and multiple Entei, but no Articuno, Moltres or Zapdos.
