Will legendaries really be obtained by doing 100+ raids ?

Haven't seen any verification of that.

But if that IS true, then screw it. 500 coins is steep as hell. That's basically paying $5 for a minigame that takes 2 minutes.

I don't think it will be that simple, Niantic will want to take advantage and monetize legendaries, I am almost sure of it...All their latest moves shows that. At the end only time will tell but my guess is that we gonna need "legendary passes" in order to do that raids and they are gonna be expensive, I think like 3 times a normal raid pass. At this point is just guessing but I have already seen multiple threads, sites and news saying that we gonna need at least the silver raid medal completed (100 raids) and that those pases for legendaries may cost up to 500 coins.

If this is the case, then it will be final touch I need in order to leave the game forever, at this point I am already feeling like this is turning into a pay2win system and don't like it all, but if they try to monetize legendaries that way then I'm done.

well that sucks quite a bit. I did battle several times a week before the gym update and now only occasionally...I'm guessing that's not enough. Medals are golden though, maybe that's how they do it.

If it's solely about the raid medal, well then let's go everyday. I need TMs anyway.
