Will gen4 change the meta?

Doubtful that it will change the meta. Gyms are so easy that you don't need counters.

One word: Garchomp

I don't wanna go full harrytripper, but if Pk Go doesn't get a significant battle mechanic improvement by the time Gen 4 is released, I can't think of a good reason to keep playing it.

So I see little to no reason for meta speculation rn.

I feel like some will fulfill roles such as Togekiss against Machamps. Tangrowth can be useful against mons such as Rhyperior since it doesn't have a poison type. Other mons may take niche roles on future raid considering that gen 4 has too many legendaries compared to previous and future generations.

We face a long year ahead, before Gen 4 is released. Let's discuss this in a year. In the meantime multiple game updates are needed
