will DT/O go the way of SW/DP?

When Gen2 dropped, all our SW/DP Dragonites went from having the "best" defensive moveset to one of the worst for offense or defense. Do you guys think DT/O may eventually suffer the same fate in the future?

Obviously i hope not cuz I've invested tons of candy and dust into mine. i'm also inclined to think that if DT/O does eventually become subpar, it may not drop as far as SW/DP due to the fact that both DT and O get STAB. Anyway, what do you guys think?

Probaly, Niantic likes to see you work hard and spend money and then make all that a waste I dont know how they have not been sued.

Its called a EULA... read one sometime.

For the record if they suddenly canceled Pokemon Go you couldn't sue them for that either, it is also in the EULA, which you signed by downloading the game.

Nice save attempt... but no that was not even remotely in any joke format.

The STAB on DT should definitely keep it more relevant than any SW Dnite, at the very least. DT/O is the real deal now so I'd just focus on getting the most out of it while you can.

I think it will always be a decent move-set, considering the fact that they both get stab etc.

Sure..one day there may be a better option, but it might not be a clean cut as that either.

They may add a more moves, but maybe only one will be better, either a new quick move or new charge move.

And depending on the typing etc it may be situational which moveset combo you would want to use.

but yeah, i still think a double dragon type moveset benefiting from stab is always gonna be good unless they completely gut Outrage or something with a huge change/nerf

Or it could go the way of DB/DC

How so? Db/dc is still the best in game, and was before :) if you factor both time and hp taken from multiple defenders(aka power). Since DT/o is not even a clear second(dt/h, b/se tyra) he cannot follow db/dc foitsteps :).
P.s. Disclaimer: I don't have a dt/o, I have db/dc, dt/h and from this morning a b/se tyra :); so yes, I'm clearly biased :d (but very happy with my attakers)

I think he probably is not talking about power level changing, like the shortening and weakening of Steel Wing which hurts defense, but he just means it is a good moveset that is no longer available.

Got it, I just used the answer to mention(brag?) my new attacker :);

Disclaimer: I don't have a dt/o

Get one and try it. I have Dragonites with similar stats and both movesets, a CP 3478 DT/O and a CP 3476 DB/DC. while the DB/DC is better for dodging and is more fun to use because of it's speed the DT/O deals more damage and in most cases it's the better one.

I mean "go the way of DB/DC" by not getting nerfed but still awesome while no longer available.

As a proud owner and member of the high IV (97% for mine) SW/HB Dragonite club, I wouldn't worry at all if people are so fortunate to get a DT/O Dragonite.

The moves at least have STAB and unless STAB changes completely or SE becomes 1.5x damage or more, it's safe to invest in STAB candidates and double dragon moves.

Even a PC/P Alakazam could come back with a simple 2 bar charge move change to Psychic.

Changing SE would completely change damage counters though since it's 2x normally in the games and card games I think so 1.25 is pretty weak.

This would make a lot of mons harder to fight against like a Vap against a Ninetales with Firespin/Solar Beam, but an Eggs firing a Solar Beam into a Vap would probably knock it out super fast with STAB and say 2x damage...
