Wild Pokémon CP
So i'm a lvl 32 and my gf has just reached lvl 30. Over the past two days we noticed that we're catching the exact same pokemon CP and IVs out in the wild when we're together which has taken some of the fun out of the game.. Is this the case for everyone, everywhere?

Not really. Wife and I both have almost all the same Pokémon thanks to wild good catches but still have a variety between us. We just hatch different stuff with different IVs and max out different stuff even though some of them are the same. Just different CP since I’m one level higher than her. Soon to be two.
It’s beneficial because we’re both on the same team so taking gyms is twice as fast.
There will definitely be advantages so I absolutely see your point.
The reason I'm not as welcoming to this fact is that occasionally I go out on my own with both phones and it takes away some of the surprise "whats in the box" type gameplay. Instead now, I may be lazy towards catching two common Pokémon as there's less incentive.
I'm warming up to the idea as it seems more efficient to weed out the "crap" before catching the "good" twice! :)
Sometimes that crap that you didn’t catch but she did is nice and she can tell you to go back and catch it. I did that to a level 30 Pidgey that happened to be a 100% IV. Went back and she caught it as well. Can also help if one is farming stardust and the other is stockpiling. If she catches something good, she can notify you to catch it as well that way you can still go about on stockpiling items. Just throw a ball or two to catch it.
The only difference are shiny Pokémon. I caught my 3rd shiny Magikarp out of 250 total Magikarp caught a few days ago. My wife still doesn’t have a single one.
