Wild Mon running away more often?

Is anyone else seeing wild Pokémon running away after the first ball doesn't catch them far more often in the last 3-4 days? Not just for high CP mons, but mid-range to low CP mons. For example, I've had a dozen CP 200-300 Pidgeys run after the first ball doesn't catch them (generally when I get cute and try for an Excellent Curveball and get no bonus at all), which is more than I've had run from me after missing on the first throw, combined, in literally months.

So just RNG or is there something else going on?

I don't know for sure. I've noticed the same thing. Four Pokemon in a row ran away yesterday. That's unusual in my experience, and I've caught nearly 36,000 of them. In general, they seem more antisocial lately.

Outside of very unfortunate RNG, there are only 2 known cases that will cause this. One is a softban, which can happen by excessive GPS drifting or simply moving too quickly for too long. Softbans last a couple hours at most and will resolve itself. The other is hitting an arbitrary catch limit, which is a rolling limit summed over the course of a week. If I recall correct, it's 500 per day with a week maximum of 3500. Once you hit that limit, any pokemon in excess of the limit will always run away after one ball.
