Wild Low Levels with Awesome IVs

I caught a 98% Wild Tyrantir..... at level 2.

It's that dilemma between stardust and powering or not.

I'm not in critical need with 5 so its more just a luxury trophy.

Who else since gym switch has got awesome IV stuff level 5 or below and what did you do with it?

If it's 14/15/15 Transfer it to the professor

Lol jk depends if you have any stardust to burn, and what your existing arsenal is. E.g. My best Ttar is a 14/14/15 and if I caught that like you I wouldn't power it straight away.

Powering up a level 2 (to at least 30 to make it a useful mon) is probably the worst thing I've ever heard.

Its only 45k dust from 1-20, so really not the worst. I'd definitely consider it if it had 15 attack.

I'd rather find a better one.

I've got wonder Electrode, Feraligatr, & Tentacruel all level 1. Its hard to get an accurate read on level 1 IVs however my best possibility is a lv1, 97% Murkrow.

I've had all these since the old gyms tho. Sometimes my teammates and I like to do a pretend intimidating theme for gyms. All but Murkrow come in handy!

Honestly the dust spent from 1 - 20 is hardly anything when you compare it to 20 - max. Its only going to be a little more than if it were a raid boss!

45000 stardust to go from 1-20 and then another 75000 to go from 20-30.
It's also 56 candies to go from 1-20 and then another 66 to go from 20-30.

Then around 150k to max

Agreed, I'll max it out, especially if att is 15, if not it became a tough decision.

I levelled up a 96% machamp all the way from level 10 to 37. I evolved it from machop and it was my first perfect fighting moveset after 6 failed previous evolutions (before TMs) and highest ever IV. So the investment was justified in this case

Before TM and raids it was pretty obvious decision, that times only way to get champ was to find good IVs machop, grind 124 candy, and hope for 1/3 chance of getting usable moveset.
Compared to hatched machop you only lost 35k dust and even saved candies.

I've only gotten one wild catch 100% IV, a growlithe at level 15 which got FF/WC after evolution. It's such a low priority to power up in the current meta, but I'd like to some day. But for now I do like the symmetry of a perfect 15/15/15/15 mon.

I don't even check things below this level unless it's really rare like your Ttar. But so far I've not had to deal with this conundrum.

Caught a wild Rhydon at level one that is a 93%. It took a few power ups to finally figure out what it's true IV was but I plan on investing in it one of these days just to say "Started from the bottom now we're here"

Before I touch him though, I'm gonna power up this Blastoise . Been pushing him back for months now but I caught it as a Squirtle and evolved it. Thanks to TMs, he finally has double water attacks as well.

L2 dratini to L40 dragonite here... 100% though. Worth it or not... Only you can tell when you did it.

I was expecting you to bring up something way worse than a level 2 98% Ttar. I've caught a perfect level 1 Snubbull, and a perfect level 2 phanpy, gonna hold on to them til the day I have enough surplus dust and candy that I feel comfortable evolving them and powering them up.

Do you have the candies? Stardust isn't really a problem for low level.

I maxed out a level 1 and a level 2 shinykarp (now gyarados) to 38.5.... candy is easy to get here, it didn't take as much dust as I expected. Totally worth it, I put them in gyms all the time.

So, yes, I would invest in a 98% tyranitar!
