Why is Flareon off the attackers tier list?

5th highest DPS in the game. I know fire isn't very relevant now, but shouldn't Flareon at least be in the lower tiers?

Also, Eevee is common in many areas, so it doesn't require any stardust investment if you just evolve a high level Eevee. This can't be said of Moltres.

It's still decent but just gets outclassed by Moltres and Entei as a fire attacker.

Remember when GamePress created the new list they specifically mentioned what qualities the ranking was based on:
*Ability to successfully solo tier 3 raid bosses
*Ability to maximize damage output vs. Tyranitar and tier 5 raid bosses
*Ability to maximize damage output vs. other tier 4 raid bosses
*Performance vs. common and optimal gym defenders

Eevee being a common spawn certainly brings Flareon an advantage, but it's just not a key factor they were looking into for this specific version of ranking.

All 3 have pretty equal DPS actually. Flareon just lacks bulk.

Nonetheless, all 3 have unique advantages over each other.

They do. Plus they all have access to one of the best movesets in game. Just as you said Eevee being so common is probably the only "unique" advantage Flareon has "over" Moltres and Entei I can think of.

Moltres has higher attack and is bulkier than Flareon, and because of its flying type it has resistances against a lot of the things fire counters. If it's all about doing more damage in a given time and especially if tight on time in Raids, Moltres is a beast.

Entei has less attack but is a lot bulkier, and same as Flareon it has access to Flamethrower which is better suited for gym battles (overheat is usually overpowered for regular gym battles). If it's not about time attack (not using Moltres), Entei is usually the better option.

I actually like using all of them - maxed out my Moltres, Entei and Flareon and did a "No Psychic 6 unique Pokemon solo" on Machamp (https://youtu.be/A4FJ52OSyic). It's a shame that fire type is not so relevant in current meta.

Another advantage Flareon has over Moltres/Entei is that you can catch an Eevee above L20, but not the legendaries. So, no stardust investment required. Also, no need to TM, just evolve more Eevees.

dondon151 posted the following in https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/q-a/rhydon-usefulness:

"The tier list hasn't been updated since the raid bosses rotated, and we don't plan on updating it until after gen 3 drops."

Flareon would also be good for soloing Scyther and attacking Blissey/Chansey with DG.

There should be a separate budget rank in the tierlist for pokemon that are very easy or resource-light to acquire but have good performance nonetheless. Flareon is one of the prime examples.

For example, against a L35 Blissey with L30 attackers dodging DG, Machamp wins in 52 seconds, Dragonite in 66 seconds, Flareon in 70 seconds and Tyranitar in 76 seconds. Tyranitar is the only one with decent hp left, Machamp actually faints at the last moment.

Imo Flareon is the only one to not get fully wrecked by Dazzling Gleam due to resistance.

Pray for celebi? We are hurting for a reason to power up our fire types...
