You need to show them love, feed them berries, say some nice words, keep smiling, and build the rapport. Learn from Satoshi, or some dating king

you will find you get nothing from stops as well if soft banned.....

Try spinning Pokestops to see if you receive any items still. If yes, you're just being unlucky with the Pokemon. If no, you received a soft ban for whatever reason.
