Why all the hate for the new raid bosses?
Yes, some them are poor choices (Metapod, Marowak, and the Nidos) but some of them are really good additions. Porygon and Scyther both very rare Pokemon so it was extremely hard to get their evolutions. Also the gen 1 starters and Magnemite were removed from eggs but we can now easily get their evolutions with good IVs and with Magnemite being rare, Magneton is also a welcome addition because Magnezone should be a very useful Pokemon once gen 4 comes around. Heck, even Cloyster is not so bad because it is probably one of the better ice types right now, and since ice types are so hard to come by, Cloyster shouldn't be so bad either. But best of all for me, after a year and three months of looking, I finally have found a good Ivysaur to finally get my favorite gen 1 Pokemon, Venusaur.

I don’t have any anger over the new raid bosses after realizing that the previous good ones remained in the lineup. There are a few that I’d never waste the time or a raid pass on (hello, Nido royalty) and one that’s a real head scratcher (Metapod). But I’m reserving my anger for the shortened raid times. 45 minutes is not cool.
I've converted enough candy to level 2 of each legendary to lvl 30 and my best raikou to max and still have 500 candy (waiting for mewtwo), and 270 GR (from t3s) but am down to 10ctms after blowing 20 tms to change 2 champs from counter to DP (duoed ttar). and Tier 5s are the best way to get them. plus the game doesn't want to give me an entei over 80% (been busy so only done 8 all but one with cp<1890 and it ran (8balls)).
So the rewards I need i can only get from tier 5's.
T5s are not the only way to get TMs. Though I personally haven't gotten a single one in the past month, even after 10 T5s in a row, and my otherwise daily T3s. Though just the other day my main raid partner earned an FTM and a CTM from two Machamp raids in one day. If it isn't a hassle to put together/join a group that can beat a Legendary, go for it, I suppose, but with solo T3s you get the benefit of always getting the highest damage ball bonus, something you can't rely on for legends unless you have a dedicated your team discord/facebook group or something.
I don't know, but I love them! Except for Sandslash (they and Sandshrews are like Pidgeys here), Metapod, Marowak, and the Nidos, I think they are some cool choices. I especially like that the more interesting ones are tier 2 and 3 and therefore soloable. Since it's extremely difficult to get people to help for non-legendary raids, I'm glad they are offering those of us who enjoy solo raids some fresh challenges. I got a 98% 15/15/14 Porygon yesterday that I will evolve into Porygon Z when gen 3 hits and I'm looking forward to soloing Scyther and Magneton also.
Sandshrews are so rare in my area I have yet to have found a Wonder one. Even the Sandslash I've captured from the raid is one that merely impresses Blanche.
Magneton is easy to solo if you got some ground, fire, and fighting types. I've already captured one but it was lower than my hatched one so I turned it into candy. I hope i can find a scyther, wartortle, or ivysaur that are Wonders with 15 attack at least. I have a scizor but she ended up with Night Slash.
I'm only going to miss Muk. I did so many but never got one higher than 90%.
My new project on off days that I can't find enough people for a T5 raid will be trying to finally get a good Wartortle. My highest Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise is only 84%. Wish I could trade some of my half dozen or so 93%-98% Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur.
I have a 98% Blastoise I would trade for a 98% Bulba family. He’s the only one I’m still striving for 100% IV. Low level, 800 something CP but it’s still a 98% Blastoise.
Got done maxing out my 100% which was less than half that CP of my 98%, Level 4. He was 300 something CP. That’s only if trading was to ever be implemented.
Well, not going to complain too much, but:
We finally got the actually useful legendary in November, when it was already below zero outside. Then, when people were finally raiding to get a pokémon and not just XP and TMs, Niantic decided to add insult to injury by decreasing spawn rate AND decreasing spawn time to 45 minutes.
Thanks a bunch.
