Who to Walk for Quad-Candy Event?
Lots of good options. What would you do?
ChanseyI already have a 2925 Blissey. But I've also got 58 candies and a 91% Chansey with 15 attack. Do I keep stacking the existing one or build out a new one by walking my tail off? 2925 is enough for gym placement here, but I never see them in the wild. Snorlax
58 candies to feed my legacy 2361 ZH/BS Snorlax if he ever gets out of his rural gym. And I do see them in the wild from time to time. Is he the right pick? Tyranitar
2331 B/SE dude could use a LOT more candies. But I have plenty of attackers and don't intend to put him in a gym. Larvitar aren't common here. Think he wants to take a stroll?
Who will you be walking?

For me, Blissey no question about it. Urgently need those candies.
Most people will happily go for Tyranitar/Blissey/Dragonite/Snorlax candies and all are fantastic options.
I'm gonna play minimal for the next 2 days and probably go hard during the event.
Also would be a good idea to stock up on Pinaps and Razzies to boost candy count and increase throw chance in the event that you see a T-rex in the wild.
I have all of the Blissey I need. I have all of the Snorlax that I need. The only thing I want but do not have is a decent moveset Machamp. I've never walked anything but Lapras/Snorlax/Dragonite/Tyranitar though. So I guess I'm walking Machamp...and I'm not very excited about it since the movesets have burned me so many times.
Tyranitar, Dratini or Snorlax are the only 'future proof' bets for now. No matter what they do, they are not going to be bad options. Great CP placement and versatile overall.
Blissey is too much of a risk for the gym-rework. Look at her base stats from the original game. She has the physical attack of a Magikarp. She may be good for now but I won't hold it for certain.
I've brushed across the subject of a possible Blissey nerf of some kind a few times recently. When i try to figure out how they could alter damage mechanics or other things I often hit a wall sometimes when those changes make Blissey OP as heck. The fact is our defenders not named Blissey are rather weak, all of them except Snorlax. Anything basic that tries to rectify this often makes Blissey OP similar to the simple attacking speed change they made not too long ago and had to take back.
Now, I'm not saying I predict that she will be nerfed or even has to be depending on what changes they make and how they go about it. I am saying it makes me a little weary to over invest in her until the changes go live. Who knows what may or may not really change though?
You bet they will nerf Blissey. Otherwise Slaking in Gen 3 will not make any sense.
It was only because of the new formula that favoured those types that are either fully physical (Rhydon) or fully special (Gengar, Kazam, Blissey).
If Blissey used the old formula, it would have ended with 1236 CP or something.
I walk an average of 10-12 KM a day. That will get me 8 or 9 candy/day. I've been walking Chansey, so I already have 44 candy. 3 days of walking should get me about 26 more for a total of 70.
The hard decision will be what to shift to after that.
I have both a dratini and a larvitar that I want to evolve. If larvitar are spawning, I'll walk one to get closer.
if no larvitar are spawning, I'll walk dratini, since I'm only about 25 candy away from a dnite.
EDIT: I've only ever seen 1 Totodile. HAtched a midling IV one during the egg event. Never seen one in the wild. At 0.75 Km per candy, I should be able to get 15 or 16 candy a day........ I might have to walk Toto so I can get the full evolve and fill 2 Dex entries.........
Don't do Totodile. It may take a while longer to get Feraligatr, but you won't use it anyway. Three evolutions of it in, I've gotten the same moveset every single time: Water Gun/Crunch. It may be better when Blastoise and Feraligatr get decent defensive movesets, but the CP is way too big of a handicap atm anyway.
I'd encourage you to stick with the others. There will inevitably be "starter" events for gen 2 before long where they will become really common.
Just walk whatever you need...for everyone, that is going to be different...If you are ultra high level, you can max Vaps for gyms.
I have enough Chancey candies to push both my Blisseys to 38+. No need to walk those...
Probably will stick with Larvitar or Dratini for general high CP and high base stats overall.
First, Teddiursa, currently at 34 candies to get a Ursasing, probably Skiploom with 65 candies now to evolve to Jumpluff, and Quilava with 48 candies to have a Typhlosion to fill my Pokedex entry. The event is a week long, plus I walk a lot. Will probably walk my Snorlax, Blissey, Tyrannitar, Machamp, and Dragonite.
I have a Blissey that needs a few more candy to max out for my current level, so I'll walk until I have those candies first. Next, I have a legacy ZH/BS Snorlax that still needs another 42 candy to max out for my current level, and after that I have an 89% IV ZH/BS Snorlax that is only level 13, but I am determined to power up to my max, because I caught it in the wild while at a conference in Hawaii. So, Blissey for a little while, and then Snorlax until my feet fall off.
