Which pokemon makes you want to throw your phone into a large body of water??
For me, it's most definitely Paras. There is something about that little bastard that just makes me angry. Every time I encounter one and decide to catch it for no other reason than the stardust, no matter if it's CP 600 or 100, he busts out of at least 3 of my balls, and I simply refuse to use a better ball to catch it. Eventually I get tired of messing with it and throw a berry if I have extras, then sometimes it STILL busts out and flees. It is even more useless than Pidgey, Ekans, or Zubat, and seems disproportionately difficult to catch.

Ekans would be a close 2nd - also disproportionately difficult to catch and next-to-useless. I had some success with a high CP Arbok training gyms around my house that often had a Clefable at the bottom. Now that I have a Muk, there is no need for any other poison type, though.
By the time I knew what to do with a grass type, I had an army of Exeggutors, so I never used a Parasect. As for taking on an Exeggutor - I haven't found a better counter than Arcanine with Bite+FB.
Kakuna and Metapod takes too many balls to catch.
I avoid them when they appear.
Also, common mons with 50-60% stat always takes extra balls to capture. They jump, attack, and refuse to stay inside the ball the most for me.
I used to don't like bugs but moveset Furry Cutter and X-Scissor changed me. They are awesome against EGGY, including Parasect. I can dodge all of the attacks.
I second your feelings on Paras - regardless of CP those mons always seem to break out of balls at a higher rate than anything else. Venonat is close behind in terms of irksomeness (made worse by the fact that you have to launch your balls practically across the length of your phone to reach it).
However, my #1 hate is 400+ CP Ratatas - they consume an assload of balls, are completely useless (I don't care about XP now that I'm level 31), and are ugly to boot.
Cubone. Hate that bastard. Seems to attack very frequently and often breaks out due to high level resulting in a lot of wasted balls in a Pokemon with 0 value in terms of XP, candies, or gym battling. Not to mention during the Halloween event they took up nearly 95% of the spawns fueling my hatred towards them even more. Post-event I still see PLENTY and it is not rare whatsoever to find Marowaks even. Fuck Cubone.
