Which Pokémon to add to the team?

Hello. Anyone here who have a HIGH LEVEL Snorlax with Lick/Body Slam to tell me if its good enough to spend 78 candies? i feel like i should wait for a Lick/Hyper Beam if i want a real offensive beast but i really want to build one for attack and both are ranked A.

Since they're very rare to hatch or catch with good moves AND high IVs im thinking about to spend in one 82.2% with this move L/BS, i will need a long time to hatch/catch another with high IVs. I would like to read some experiences with this move in high levels.

EDIT: I am Level 30 (almost 31) with 210k dust available. This is my offensive team right now:

1 - Dragonite, 91.1% IV, 3048cp, DB/DP;
2 - Exeggutor, 100% IV, 2554cp, ZH/SoB;
3 - Arcanine, 71.1% IV, 2463cp. FF/FB (spended only 29k to max out to level 30);
4 - Vaporeon, 93.3% IV, 2437cp, WG/HP;
5 - Exeggutor, 86.7% IV, 2274cp, ZH/Psy;
6 - Gyarados, 86.7% IV, 2262cp, B/HP,

As you can see, from top attackers (tiers 1 and 1.5) i only need a Snorlax and Lapras to complete a solid top ranked offensive team. Which pokémon should i start thinking about to power it up beside Snorlax? considering my team.

I don't like snorlax for attacking at all whether its lick/BS or lick/HB.

Snorlax doesn't do extra damage to anyone and its attack stat is very low in my opinion. Therefore, I have always considered a snorlax to be a defensive pokemon. I have several high level snorlaxes including a lick/BS and a lick/HB one. If I had to chose one for attacking I would pick the one with HB.

But like i said before, I rarely use a snorlax as one of my 6 attackers.

Im looking for a solid team with the best tier pokémon. My main attackers are: Dragonite DB/DP, Exegg ZH/SoB, Exegg ZH/Psy, Vap WG/HP, Gyara B/HP and Arcanine FF/FB. Which Pokémon should i start thinking about to add to the offensive team? Snorlax are the only top tier one that i dont have in the offensive team and i already have one ZH/BS 93.3% IV maxed out for defense. I dont have a Lapras to up right now (only a defensive one ~maxed out)..

Body Slam is the best Charge move for Snorlax in my opinion. Its fast and 2x. Its the best for attack or defense.

I wouldn't do it. I know you want an opinion on body slam but I can give you an opinion on a high level HB Snorlax. I never choose it to attack, it takes so long to beat opponents.

It's a great Pokemon but not worth investing that much candy into as an attacker. An Exeggutor does a better job. They are definitely more suited for defense. I've been stockpiling candy waiting for a Zen/Bs 90iv if it ever comes. I've got over 250 candy at this point.

I already have one ZH/BS 93.3% IV maxed out for defense. So Snorlax its not good enought to spend dust for offense? its the only tier 1 one that i dont have in the team. My main attackers are: Dragonite DB/DP, Exegg ZH/SoB, Exegg ZH/Psy, Vap WG/HP, Gyara B/HP and Arcanine FF/FB. Which Pokémon should i start thinking about to add to the offensive team? i dont have a Lapras to up right now (only a defensive one maxed out).

I don't have a Snorlax but what makes it good is that it does neutral damage against most pokemon so you can use it on any pokemon and it'll do a decent job, plus high HP makes it forgiving if you miss dodges or don't bother with dodging, but I'm guessing most casuals that don't bother dodging have already quit.

You already have top tier counters for the typical top tier defenders that will do a better job than Snorlax in those specific scenarios that you don't have use for a Snorlax.

e.g. your Exeggutor for water types, Vaporeon for Arcanines, Arcanine for grass types and Lapras, enemy Dragonites you can use your own against it, or your Lapras if it's not in a gym.

Plus if you want a pokemon for neutral damage, the Dragonite and Vaporeon will do more DPS than the Snorlax since their moves do 6 damage compared to 5 and also have STAB, and Dragonite has way higher attack stat. Vaporeon's is similar to Snorlaxes but has STAB.

There isn't really any pokemon that you need right now. Maybe a Lapras if there's tons of Dragonites in a row in gyms that your own Dragonite isn't enough to handle them all.

I really don't care for it for offense. It deserves the top tier spot for attacking, it can easily take out multiple opponents with its health. It just does it so slowly. I always end up switching it out when the game selects it for me.

Why not switch out your lapras from def to off? Even with the "wrong" moveset for offense it's a great matchup against a ton of opponents.

With the gym system in shambles, might as well make your attack team badass and let your defense down a bit.

I have two 1670 Laprases with IS/DP for dragonites but IS is too slow, so i even use my 3048 dragon to start the battles (and finish sometimes). So i will just still farming dust/candies and wait for gen 2. Maybe build some defenders (Conf/Psy Exeggutor would be nice)...this is my short team of defenders:

Dragonite, 3004cp, 77.8% iv, SW/DC;
Dragonite, 2761cp, 38.5% iv, SW/HB (caught exactly like this);
Snorlax, 2719cp, 93.3% iv, ZH/BS;
Lapras, 2535cp, 82.2% iv, IS/Bliz.

There are only 2 gyms in my town. So sad, i hope they add more.

Ice Shard is fine for attacking Dragonites with, it's cooldown fits well against both Dragon Breath and Steel Wing's timings that you're not losing much DPS.

Its not bad. I use it sometimes but i prefer Dragon Breath or my Cloyster with FB/Blizz to attack Dragonites.

I wish there was trading. I would just give you exeggutors. My town is crawling with them. I've evolved so many I stopped catching them. I just wish we had growlithes, I hatch more than I catch.

Let's trade for your 100 IV exeggutor when trading comes out! I got some mons you may want.

If trade system comes now, i already have this to trade:

Primeape iv 87
Exeggutor iv 93
Lapras iv 84
Hitmonlee iv 80
Hitmonchan iv 84
Cloyster iv 93
Hypno iv 89
Aerodactyl iv 80
Porygon iv 78
Gyarados iv 93
Electrode iv 84
Weezing
2x Magnetons

most of them are useless but many ppl need it to complete dex...so.

I have a 2654CP 96% Snorlax With lick/BS.
Its a good attacker but slow to kill anything. I can kill any Pokemon with affording to miss one or 2 charges move dodge. I rarely use it a first choice because I prefer low HP/high attack attackers.

I don't have much experience with lick/HB but I think lick/BS is superior since so much practical to use. Even though its frustrating because it gives the impression of making very low damages

Having a offensive snorlax is not a necessity. I regret candies invested. I would do it only if more than 150 snorlax candies

Thanks for your experience. So, i also have a Defensive Snorlax and my offensive team is missing only a Snorlax from top tiers. I just spended 75+ candies on my defensive Snorlax (2719cp right now and 93.3% IVs with ZH/BS) and have 30 more candies (still farming more with buddy). I love Lick's speed to attack and the EPS looks so great to spam BS every time (5 Licks ~= 1 BS). But since everyone says that Snorlaxes sucks to attack, i will just keep quiet with my dust and wait other more with defensive move to spend the candies.

I have walked snorlax to death and I have a lick/BS snorlax. Its at 2480 CP with 93% IV. With dodging, it kills 2 pokemon and half of a third pokemon. If you do not dodge, do not use him. The damage from the other pokemon will surpass what damage he gives out. However, I like to dodge and I can get success with him. Two pokemon is (2200 and above) Anything below 2000 gets squashed and I can kill up to 3 1/2 pokemon.
