Which one to evolve to Dragonite

As this is a resource scarce game, I have a Dragonair (level 24, 15 atk, 11 Hp and 2 def) or a level 20 Drat (13/14/14). I would save 25,000 dust and 48 candy (I have 174) if I evolved and powered up the Dragonair. Does the 15 atk stat make all the difference or would its low IVs rule it out? Thanks all.

Is you Dragonair level 30 or is it level 24?

In my opinion, If it is lvl 30 and you don't have dragonite evolve it and use it. Save the rest candies till you have a better one.
if you have enough Dragonites save your candies till have a better one.

I think with Dragonite, it's better to have 1 or 2 exceptional ones than it is to have an army of decent ones. He's not really a specialist into anything but he can be slotted into the 5th/6th slot in many raids. But in order to have the versatility to be everywhere at once, I think powering it up to the max really helps.

If you have enough Ice pokemon to get you through the Raquaza raids in a few weeks, then I'd wait for something better than either of those that you can/would want to power up to 40.

I've attached what a lv 33 evolved dragonair vs a lv 28 evolved dratini (assumed DT/O) would look like vs average Raquaza

but at the same level (30) there is a significant difference in performance (dratini to left, dragonair to right).

I dunno I have 6 decent Hu Dnites and can solo machamps with only them

But why bother when you can just catch a weather boosted Abra or Eevee and evolve it without spending dust or TMs?

No one really NEEDS 6 Dragonites especially if their Dratini Candy resources are under 200.

I would suggest that you don't need to power one of yours up given rayquazza is around the corner and raids have a better chance of giving you a high iv one.

Personally speaking, I missed on the jolteon wave but raikou quickly fixed it for me. I feel like i saved on all that dust and hunting :)
