Which mons?
With double stardust probably coming thursday I wonder where high level trainers invest their dust into? Which mons are worth powering up well past lvl 30 atm? I have a diversified lineup just above lvl 30 (66 mons) and 15 mons way higher. Which ones are you taking to the max or close to it? Thanks!

I want to comment to the Thursday stardust statement. If the event doesnt start before Thursday, Niantic is most likely making up the numbers.
It took "us" 24 hours (?) to unlock the first event. So it would mean nobody got motivated by the first event if the progress is linear. I played my ass of today unlike before for example and I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

That depends on what you are planing on fighting. The answer will be different for tier 3 solos, tier4, or legendary. Since I'm a rural, solo player, I'm going for tier 3 counters to their breakpoint. The only ones worth taking further are the ones that need the extra defense and stamina. (Gengar, Alakazam, Espeon for example.)
Just secured a perfect Alakazam and Hypno and to a lesser extent Starmie. (Give Thunderbolt plz). Sitting on a 97 Pinsir and Dragonair (would make 5th dragon so meh). Would like to boost a Kingdra too, have a 95.
This time around I'm holding onto at least a million. 600 candies hogging up bag space too. I'm sure I will dump on a favorite Gen 3er if I get a good one early enough.
The problem is if I were to go hard hatching I would get two or three other options and that's where the dust lies.
The article about the safest bets for gen 3 in the sidebar is actually very good. Mons that look to stay the best or a close second of their type (Tyranitar, Raikou, Zapdos) are good investments as are mons that are hugely relevant now and will stay good if not the best even if gen 3 shakes things up (Dragonite, Machamp).
Personally I have powered to 35+ metamons like these, mons I needed for a tier 3 solo, defenders for high turnover areas and mons that are personal favorites. Usually if I take something above 30 nowadays, it's going all the way to the max.
