Which mon would you enjoy to hunt for future community day exclusives?
Yes, I know, I know... everyone wants a black Charizard. But Charmander is a starter, so unless they raise its catch rate it will not be fun for many to spend 3 hours of their lives going after it. Most people would probably just shiny-check them instead of catching them, which sounds incredibly lame to me (sorry March's Bulbasaur enthusiasts).
My question is rather, what species do you think you would enjoy hunting during a future community day, by taking into consideration how much you like the shiny, how much it would benefit from getting a special move it otherwise couldn't, and its catch rate? Also, forget about rarity or making an already-strong mon even stronger (like a double rock Ttar would be).
I'd love to see some usage on a C-day exclusive (shiny) Donphan, Arcanine, Kabutops, Ninetails, or Aerodactyl. Abra would be fun to catch (for me), if only for the fact that you only get one chance, so I wouldn't get too hung up on persisting to catch every single one due to sheer stubbornness. Shiny Weezing would be pretty beaching too.

Why the downvotes?
Neways, even tho I would enjoy these too, I think they fall into the "already-strong" category.
What I was mainly referring to were species that are currently unviable for battle due to movesets (combined with being "fun" to catch instead of a nuisance).
Like, how Omastar is only relevant if it has it's very rare legacy moveset. The Johto starters, for example, are incredibly useless, but you could squeeze some niche uses out of an Eruption Typhlosion or Frenzy Plant Meganium.
I'd like to hunt things that are not "first picks" against raids or gym.
Firstly, because these community days trivialise the rarity of top notch attackers. Also, those who cannot attend the event would feel quite disappointed and fall behind in a large power gap, that affects lower level players more.
Secondly, non "first picks" gives me a reason to use them for novelty value. E.g. if Venusaur had an awesome animation or something cool, would definitely uses over Sceptile or Exeggutor.
I also feel the "shiny rate" is bit too high. I mean, everyone is excited about getting shinies, don't get me wrong. But if you've got the hours to spend and walk out with a dozen or so, they don't feel so special anymore. If we didn't have the Pikachu or Dratini events, normally there's a "wow" factor when either of those appear in the gym defense. Now it' just "Ah, another community day attendee".
I'd like to see C-Days involving Pokemon with decent enough stats but who are presently hamstrung by lackluster movesets. The special C-Day move(s) should be ones that improve a particular Pokemon's meta-viability.
For this reason I particularly like your suggestions of Donphan (double-ground?), Arcanine (double-electric?), Kabutops (double-rock?), Ninetales (something to give it a niche use, à la Arcanine), and Aerodactyl (STAB quick move, and/or a STAB charge move other than Ancient Power).
Such changes would serve to enhance the usability of certain Pokemon, and shrink the bloated size of the 'Dex-filler' category.
Why would I want to "just shiny-check them instead of catching them"? I know some players are doing that, but to me it seems just really stupid. The last few events the special Pokemon always were good for extra resources - 300 stardust for Party Pikachu and Dratini, triple XP for Bulbasaur. Catching one of these and sending them away manually is still much faster than catching two or three normal ones.
Well, as someone who will be reaching level 40 within the next week and has no use for the extra EXP, I can see myself skipping on some bulbas if they are within 500-800 cp if they are not shiny. I have enough candy to instantly evolve 3 bulbas I have been saving for a last mass evo spree. I'm not saying I will do that, but I can understand people who say they will.
