Which Kingler is better?

Hi, guys. I'm in a bit of a conundrum right now. I have two Kinglers that are really good, but can't decide which one to focus on for the long haul, or if I should get rid of one of them. They are as follows:

-100% IV, 1347 CP, Metal Claw/X-Scissor
-93% IV (15HP, 13ATK, 14DEF), 2134 CP, Bubble/Water Pulse

I caught the 93% Kingler in the wild, which was an awesome find, so I don't want to transfer it just because I have another Kingler with perfect IVs. I used the IV calculator to compare their max CP potential. The 100% Kingler will max out at 2694 CP, and the 93% Kingler will max out at 2667 CP, which is just a 27 CP difference, hardly a big gap at all.

Do you guys think I should power up the Kingler with perfect IVs, but with a C-tier attacking/B-tier defending moveset, or the one with lesser IVs, but with an A-tier moveset for both attacking and defending? Thanks!

i cant see the 100 kingler being very good at anything in particular but hold on to him. maybe in the future who knows. the problem i see is kingler being unviable as a defender due to low stamina and while x-scissor is very effective against grass metal claw is terrible against electric plus neither have STAB.
kingler has the highest base attack stat of all water mons currently in the game tho so it can be a beast attacking with water moves for stab + very effective damage so the 93 is definently worth keeping imo

Thanks for the input. I'll keep them both and see what happens in the future!

Go with the Perfect IV one, main series games let you change the moves and Niantic is aware that function is wanted in GO. What is not a changeable feature is the IVs. Eventually you will be able to changes moves on your perfect mon but you’ll be stuck with the IVs of your less than perfect mon.

Lol futurama let's gooooo

If I was in your shoes, I would wait or the gym rework. I believe more optimal Pokémon exist for the roles of kingler's available movesets (poliwrath, scizor, etc.) However, if the present is more important for you in this specific case, I would:
1). Power up metal claw/x-scissor if you typical dodge most attacks
2). Power up Bubble/WP if you want to dish out damage a little faster AND want to have a defender to mix it up occasionally (assuming your gym scene isn't uber competitive)

Thanks for the input. I'll definitely hold unto them both for now and see what he can do after the gym rework! :D

It's possible that with the gym rework that Kingler could be a viable defender. If so, then the 100% one could surprise some grass attackers with X Scissor. Otherwise, I wouldn't invest anything in Kingler, regardless of moves, CP, or IVs. The 93% one you have could be a good attacker against Rhydon at least. Don't invest anything until at least after the rework.

Sounds good. Hopefully, some of Kingler's movesets get a buff or two to make him useful!

After the gym rework and evolve a new one, Water Pulse is very bad compared to other water moves such as Aqua Tail for now.

Neither should be powered up.
