Where our anger is coming from with the new raids

Pogo community is not welcoming the new added raids into the meta. Very strange when you consider updates are usually followed by excitement. So why are the new raids leaving a bad taste in our mouth?

We are all living in an ugly reality of having 20+ Raikou in or list all at lvl 20... Now what? 20 lvl 20 Porygons?? And in our current crises of being in a stardust drought there is no opportunity to power up these Pokémon. At the very least Niantic could have added Stardust has a reward for defeating the raid boss concurrent to what you can hatch it for. But no. This is why we all hate the idea of having all these newly added pokemon. 1. We aren't spending a $1 on Nine tails. 2. Even tho Omnystar could have potential you would rather put whatever stardust you have into a Golem. 3. we don't want more lvl 20 bullshit.

I agree with stardust part but I'm not angry at all. On the contrary - I've always wanted good IV Scyther (he is so rare where I live) and Scizor is one of my favourite mons. Makes sense for me to try and hunt for one with 100%. I already have Raikou with bad IV but that's okay since I don't plan to power him up.

That being said - nobody forces anybody to battle those newly raid bosses and spend real money on raid passes.

I agree with adding stardust packets as a possible raid reward. People say "great I got 20 super potions". If they got 800 extra stardust they would praise their luck. They used to give 5k stardust a day, so not like it is against Pokemon canon

Why are you even angry about raid bosses you didn’t do replaced by raid bosses you won’t do?

The biggest problem remains to be legendary raids. People’s level 10 alt accts has more Raikous than Pidgey. Mewtwo system is almost perfect.

You are gonna get jumped for saying Mewtwo system is good. I agree with your other point though about excessive legendaries. I do have sponsored gyms in my city so I won't make that complaint. They at least switched 11/11 round to a Saturday afternoon, so that pleases me. However, people getting an EX pass at a location, then the following week they get another EX pass b/c they completed the previous EX raid successfully...that is dumb

Anything that limits supply of uber Pokémons is good. Or you will see more lugia, entei, and tyranitars used in suicune raids.

in mewtwos case though the supply has mostly been restricted to random luckys with some people getting 6 and in other cases whole regions still yet to see a raid (a small town 100k north of here has had 3, the outer burbs of a city 100km south of here has had several... here nothing.)

I'm with Chogall on this one. Legendary pokemon are supposed to be just that. While perhaps one Mewtwo every week or two is borderline. 20 Entei a day is worse. There shouldn't be more than one legendary raid a day in a moderately sized area.

I think the system would be made better in various ways. First and foremost the thing Mewtwo does right is advanced notice. When we are on our gym badge screen there is an icon to let you know you have the pass there. Why don't all raids do this? If you have a bronze badge you should be able to see the outline of an egg. Silver perhaps what color or level the egg is. If your badge is gold just say what the boss is.

What's more once you have a gold gym badge you should not continue to gain gym badge exp for every berry or battle. It only makes sense to convert that wasted animation into star dust. Yes the gains will be small but better than nothing. 100 dust for every defender you place plus an extra 10 per berry plus up to maybe 200 per round of combat would not break the system nor be terribly exploitable.

I have heard from ingress players that the achievements are just that. Not like in pokemon go where everyone can get a participation medal with minimal effort (except of course the raid ones - those are expensive to get gold). Between that and the gaining momentum of a cheap knock off, I think pokemon go is in store for some good changes.

What would you consider a "moderately sized area"? I ask because a major town in Singapore would be about ten square kilometers in area and have about two hundred thousand residents, yet averages two to three legendary raids per hour.

Totally agree with fewer raids but more advanced notice. The game will show an egg for an hour but only if the gym is within walking distance. As a result, most serious players here rely on SGPokeMap to plan and travel to legendary raids, thus ensuring crowds (in good locations).

I play in a fairly small downtown area - maybe 10 square miles. There are about 30 gyms we regularly hit. Some days we have a lv5 an hour some days only 3 or 4 all day. Still too many. I had one day with Entei where I did 15. A Raiko u day with 12, and 8 Suicune the day it was launched. I should not have been able to do over 70 Raikou and Entei raids in a month, even with paid passes. There's nothing legendary about that.

Who cares if some alt has 10 level 20 Raikou? Level 20 mons are weak af. At least this system is somewhat fair.

Ex raids are a terrible idea, have been implemented poorly, and are so unfair and random. This is coming from someone who has multiple Mewtwos.

You are out of touch clearly.

*Mewtwo system is almost perfect.*

...you are joking right?
I take it you have had multiple invitations.

I'm actually glad about having the opportunity to capture Ivysaur and Wartortle with good IVs, being a collector and seeking the strongest of each. Kind of disappointed with the Sandslash that wasn't top rank in IVs, but got rare candy for it. And since most bosses are 1st stage evos, that's 300 stardust for them, but would love to get extra stardust out of bosses. Or at least a berry that can be used on any pokemon to multiply stardust.

EDIT: And already caught Ivysaur, but it's not top IV rank, so I'll have to keep hunting them until I get one worthy of being a Venusaur.

These changes aren't for the hardcore...they would be based on the dex entries missing, using data gathered after the recent event that gave massive bonus XP for dex entries.

This is based on verifiable information...the problem comes with the fan sites because the content was not aimed directly at the hardcore player who want and think every update is about us.

If so, the Hitmons and Mareep family would be included.

It may simply be that the number of people with these missing from dex is a lot lower than the ones they have added to raids - MANY walked Mareep to get the evolution, and many areas have a lot of hitmons

They may be added in the future....or it is just as likely these are left out because you can still regularly get candies and evo fodder to get these from eggs.

...they still need to leave a reason to buy incubators as well as raid passes for those looking to complete dex.

My point is...not everything is done for the hardcore players, and I doubt these mons added to raids were picked randomly.
