Whats Your Luck With Legendary Raids?

I'm a rural/city player, not connected in any groups. If I see a legendary raid and I have time, I will try to join. I have had 1 EX raid (i failed).

Kryogre: Success + Caught (78ish IV)
Rayquaza: Success + Failed To Catch (under 80 IV)
Mewtwo (same gym as Ray): Success + FTC (under 80 IV)
Latios: Success + FTC (under 82 IV)

It seems that I have terrible luck catching, i got over 10 balls each time, all curve-ball throws. At least they weren't good IV's but i'm really disappointed about Mewtwo, apparently, i had a 97% chance to catch it but it still ran away. How much luck do you have with your legendary raids?

With most legendaries, my catch rate is 1:2-3, or so, but there is an active discord group in my area. So, I just raid enough that I catch all I want, eventually. My first mewtwo ran, but I've caught him consistently, since.

I did many legendary raids (442) so luck isn't that big of a factor anymore. Overall I'd say I was not really blessed.

- only one 100% IV (Raikou) but at least I catched it.
- 50+ Lugia (second time), none was shinny
- every legendary 93%+ except:
- 36 Kyogre, 89% highest.
- Suckune: 17/19 catched, 98,2x96,93,66.66% thanks for wasting my "luck" on that one...

I don't know how small the chance is with the shinny Lugia or the terrible Kyogres but I'd say under 10% in both cases...

on the plus side I have to mention, that I catched a 96% Mewtwo today (5th Ex Raid)

I had good luck overall with all legendaries with a 60-70% caught but Latios is literally the worst
I've caught 5/20 . It's pretty awful and I'm considering just skipping Latios raids until that stupid blue shit is gone

Same here. I don't get to raid as often as I would like to, but I am 4/10. They have a very annoying attack and movement animation. That, along with the set circle not seeming to work for me and my silver dragon badge, makes them a very difficult catch.

I have some weather-boosted ones and my best IVs so far are 13/14/13. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and picky with what I power up, so I would like to get a better weather-boosted one before they leave because I really want to power one up with that Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw moveset that I missed out on with Dragonite.

The rule of thumb is: with money comes luck. Some people, like kiengiv, have 4x 100 Rayquaza not because of great luck but 1,000 Rayquaza raids. They simply do much more raids than average players do! Still, say if you only do ~100 raids and got several 100iv, then it's definitely an outlier! Either way, mark my words on this: in the (very) long run, everyone is equal.

Now, given this rule, it's important to state the total number of raids done.

Personally I completed 447 Legendary raids. 2 100iv: Ho-Oh and Latios. Both pretty useless, huh? Well, in the case of Ho-Oh, yes. But Latios has been my fav (in others' eye he may be "stupid blue shit") so I enjoy powering him up very much. Other highlights of my "good" Legendary catches are some 93iv+ 15Atk Rayquaza/Groudon/Kyogre, and a 91iv Mewtwo which I'm very happy about. Then that's it.

I've seen people doing (much) less raids than I do and still get 100 Ray/Groudon/Kyogre. Do I feel salty? Not gonna lie, yep I do. But there's nothing I can control - it's the matter of luck. The more I see people bragging, the less salty I feel, and eventually I become immune to it.

I maxed out a Ho-Oh, and it is my go-to mon for gym sweeping, now, not useless at all.

Sometimes you become your own average, 164 legendaries caught, none 98%+. Recently I’ve done 64 Rayquaza+Latios wins, caught 38...and 1 Latios was 15a/13/15 and got a couple 93% Rayquaza.

While also playing my wife’s, 35 Rayquaza+Latios wins, caught 24 of them. 4 Rayquaza 98% (two 15a and two 14a) and 1 Latios 98% (15a).

More than just money, you also need a super-active community and a ton of gyms to do that many.

164 caught 285 thrown at...57.5%. Very average, always get 10 or more balls, too. Caught no 98s nor 100s.

However, I bet I'm in the top 2% in getting EX invites in 2018, 11 EX invites from Jan 30th to April 22nd. Just cover the bases as much as you can and hit the boss reward as many times as you can.

I joined 240 legendary raids, caught about 50-60% but made the important ones count.
Got 100% Kyogre and Rayquaza yet my second best ones are below 90%.
Got 98% Groudon, Raikou and Moltres again only one good one.
90+ Entei, Zapdos and Articuno.
No shiny or high iv Lugia,
Latias, Ho-oh and Suicune below 80.
I consider myself lucky since ones that matter most ended up pretty good and didn't have any hard time choosing.
Already maxed (to Lv39 actually) my 98 and 100 ones with no regret

My luck varies. 28 out of 30 for Groudon, less than 50% for Lugia. So far 21 out of 22 for Latios.

I think the differences in peoples throwing makes a big difference when dealing with certain circle sizes and animations.

I usually go for great curves.

My luck seems to vary wildly.

Ho-Oh: 4/7 (with straight balls)
Groudon: 4/10 (with straight balls)
Kyogre: 8/20 (Learnt curveballs at this point)
Rayquaza: 9/20
Lugia: 11/14
Latias (to date): 3/12

I aim for curveball Greats (previously regular Greats)

My story is similar to yours. Learned to Curve between Groudon and Kyogre, Though it was Mewtwo that convinced me that I needed to up my game.

Suicune: 100% - 1/1 (best is 89%, 12 ATK)
Ho-oh: 33% - 1/3 (best is 78%)
Groudon: 80% - 4/5 (best is 93%, 14 ATK)
Kyogre: 44% - 12/27 (best is 89%, 15 ATK)
Rayquaza: 45% - 9/20 (best is 89%, 15 ATK)
Lugia: 68% - 13/19 (best is 89%, 15 ATK)
Latios: 56% - 9/16 (best is 96%, 15 ATK)
Mewtwo: 50% - 2/4 (not sure which is worse, honestly)

Latios is the easiest catch for me (well, after Groudon), even though I am still just silver on the Dragon badge.

Luck evens out over time. For me it has a lot to do with the quality of your throws. For me I started curveballs with the first run of Lugia...the results...before:

Articuno 87% 12a (no power up), 100% ran
Moltres 96% 13 a
Zapdos 91% 12a (3 better ones ran)

Since then:
Lugia (first run) 93% 14a, 100% ran
Entei 89% 15a
Suicune 98% 14a, 96% 14a (no power up)
Raikou 93% 14a, 96% 13a
Ho-oh 96% 15a

Groudon 100%, 98% 15a
Kyogre 91% 15a, 98% ran
Rayquaza 98% 15a, 96% 15a, 100% ran
Lugia (second run) 96% 15a, 98% 14a

Mewto 87% 12a, 93% 15a

281 legenday raids total. The IVs have gotten better for me with the exception of Entei. I hate that the 98% Kyogre flew and I remember I had 12 balls and my throws were all curved and at least great while 3 had been excellent throws, but thats the game. Raid more and optimize your throws and you will get higher IV legendaries.
