What would be better ex raid system?

The current pure RNG system sucks, but what would be a better system?
Mewtwo shouldn't be something that everyone can get with pretty much no effort, like the current legendaries.
If Mewtwo was a very rare normal raid, there would be thousands of people flash mobbing the area, causing legal issues for Niantic.

Pretty much anything else.

"Mewtwo shouldn't be something that everyone can get with pretty much no effort, like the current legendaries."

The only thing that Niantic care about is what makes money and what does not make money. Handing out all the other legendaries like confetti should make them money, so that's what happens.

ex raids are there to make die hards do even more raids. Which should make them even more money!!

Niantic are all about money, there is no genuine love for Pokemon among that corporation. Pokemon is just a money making tool to them.

Weekly missions.
Do 1 raid a day for 7 days to get a 10% of an EX-raid pass.
If you don't get one the first week, your chances increase by 10% after the next successful weekly mission.
So if you're REALLY unlucky, you'll still get an invite eventually.

Or maybe add a point system for those with less daily free time.
Mission: Earn 50 points over 7 days.
T1 Raid: 2 points
T2: 3 points
T3: 5
T4: 7
T5: 10

This system could also easily be changed on the fly to make sure Mewto stays rare.

But this would make EX-raids completely free, so Niantic will never do anything like it.

Maybe something similar, like building up points and a gold badge to a certain Gym, and then each gym has a chance to have a Mewtwo for you, which is a 1on1 raid that scales to your level. Each gym would have a "chance" for the final point reward to be a Mewtwo, and otherwise it could be a premium raid pass, star piece, or stardust reward?

Make earning an EX raid pass more transparent, and make EX raid passes able to be used on any EX raid, but still make EX raids show up very rarely if making Mewtwo rare is what Niantic wants.

I was thinking some sort of points system where you earn points for doing raids, bonus points for doing optional objectives in the raid, and when you get a certain amount of points you get an EX raid pass, and like the daily passes you could make it so that you can only hold one EX raid pass at a time, and can't earn points towards another one until you've used it.

Examples on the points system would be like completing a level 1 or 2 raid gives 1 point, 3 or 4 gives 2 points, and legendary raids gives 3 points, 100 points gives an EX pass. Numbers can be changed but the idea is there.

Better players can earn points faster, but more casual players can still slowly work their way towards an EX pass.

Optional objectives would be like doing raids with a certain number of people within a time limit, for example complete a Tyranitar with 4 people or less within 150 seconds for an extra point, otherwise if it's just a time limit you could just do raids with 20 people which makes it easy and when these optional objectives are supposed to be for the stronger players.

Plus we've already got self-imposed challenges like soloing level 3 raids.

Doing raids without a certain Pokemon, or Pokemon with a certain type, or moves of a certain type might give extra points, example defeat Omastar without using Exeggutor, Venusaur, Victreebel or Sceptile, which makes the raid harder and also encourages people to use other Pokemon.

Defeat a raid boss without dodging, or defeat a boss without missing a dodge, without using super effective moves, et cetera.

Leave EX system as is for free passes.

Add a system that allows people to buy EX pass to use a gym that has an EX raid.

Gold pass = 100
Silver Pass = 200
Bronze Pass = 300
Black Pass = 500

Charge 500 coins for tier 5 passes and release mewtwo worldwide with the current legendary rotation.

Charge 400 coins for tier 4, 300 for tier 3, 200 for tier 2 and 100 for tier 1 premium raid passes.

Allow free daily passes to be used for any tier.

Everyone wins.

The EX raid pass should not be issued exclusively to players who raid at an EX raid arena. I live in a German town of approximately 580k inhabitants. My local raid group usually takes on raids which are located within a radius of perhaps 4 km. Unfortunately the average raid attendance in our area isn't sufficient for the algorithm to determine one of our local arenas as an EX arena. But there are some EX raid arenas in our city which are 6-8 km away. Me and the other people from my group aren't willing to drive this far regularly for the remote chance of getting an EX pass, but we'd most definitely go there if we received a pass from our local raids.

I wouldn't be able to raid at all if i restricted myself to 4km.
The shity thing is though is that i travelled multiple times (45min return) to raid on a known ex raid gym last week including doing t1s i didn't otherwise give a shit about, only for niantec not to give out invites this week. (Unless its going to be wednesday which is not a public holiday and i am working).

Some good ideas here. Maybe add an EX raid pass to certain high level rewards (30, 35, 40), or at least 40.

Niantic should also give some thought to the EX raid locations and times (Christmas day could be excused if they were NOT U.S. based), and they should never give a pass and then take it away like they did to some of us (no explanation or notification.... some people will still show up... and blame the sponsor! I know I will never do business with them again).

Overall, a really BAD system.

Hard to know why they continue to persist with this failed idea. Do they even listen to the player base to know just how unpopular it is.

I notice the only ones who like it are the ones who won the lottery and got their pass(es) and Mewtwo, one or more. They want the rest of us to remain have nots, which makes them special.

But it's clearly Niantic's fault.

How about any system that doesn’t have me and my 8ish raiders shut out with our over 200 legendary raids each?

The system is pure trash

Also, this system is trash because he isn’t “rare” at all to folks in certain areas. You have trash ass trainers with Mewtwo and strong groups with no mew two. You want to make him rare? Make him hard to catch for weak trainers.
