Hi. What is this ring coming from the bottom of a gym about 200 metres away from me. It's gets bigger just like the ring around your avatar

No idea what it's called, but you need to be inside it to gym battle (in the same way that Pokestops have to be within your avatar's ring to spin).

Maybe you've been near (Actually been there or GPS drift) and the game didn't remove the animation. I often see this with Pokestops that stay round instead of becoming cubes again.
