What is onix's best move set to evolve into a steelix?

right now my highest cp onix has tackle and heavy slam. is that any good? if not what is the best moveset for onix?

Onixes MS doesnt matter and its not related to what you get when evolving into Steelix
I think Iron Tail/Heavy Slam is best

what do you mean ?

the moveset of a pokemon before you evolve it literally means nothing. The move set gets randomly rolled once you hit evolve.

how do people still think this after the game has been out for so long xD
