What this game has taught us

"Never set your expectation high."

Start with the trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sj2iQyBTQs). Everyone was so thrilled after watching, but when the game was first released (and till now), we were disappointed to find that there was no Trading, no PVP, no legendary, and the AR was far worse from what was shown in the trailer. And the gym system and more.
And when they mentioned about "we are going to add more Pokemon to the game" (Dec 2016), everyone was thinking about the whole Gen2, got thrilled again. It turned out that it was just 8 useless babies. It took another 2 months (until late Feb) for Gen 2 to finally arrive.
Then let's talk about some in-game play. When we evolve a high IV Dratini, we are expecting something like "He's going to be a DB/DC (DT/O) one!" But then we get Steel Wing/Hyper Beam. When 10k eggs are about to hatch, we are expecting something like "it's going to be a Dratini or Larvitar or Mareep, I know it". Then a Pineco popped out.
You see, this game is really good at frustrating players by crushing our expectations. For us players, we can't change how the game works. If we want to avoid frustrations, there are only two ways out: lower expectation or quit. That's just how it is.
The reason why I'm saying all this is that I just realize that we're falling into the same situation again: the "coming gym rework". We have so much expectation for it (there's nothing wrong with it). But people, do hear me:
**Never set your expectation high on PoGo. **
Just play the way you like, enjoy some walking & hatching and get fit. Don't think that the gym rework will rock everything. I'm really done with "saving your candies for the incoming gym rework".

Yep, that's a good lesson for me who get frustrated with life for the smallest things. Desensitizes me. And I like seeing progress in the game, however slow.

I know, I wasn't encouraging quitting, just don't set expectations high. Still,

I feel you, its tough. But Niantic has come out and said that it was released imperfect. They are not happy with it, and are trying to balance releasing content with fixing mechanics. I don't know ish about computer programming so I don't know how reasonable these updates releases have been.

I give props to niantic. It's no where near perfect, but it's the only mobile game that ever held my attention more than a day. Now it's rivaling the amount of time I've spent on my favorite console games of the past.

Even when I stop playing I will always remember the pogo days walking around enjoying myself getting some fresh air, dominating the gym down the road every night:). I won't be thinking about rolling bad movesets or getting bad hatches.

There is a tracking system on video BUT GAME'S system is a fail...

There is an epic MULTIPLAYER BATTLE on the video but we all know gym system and there is no multi playing other then attacking on same stupid ai...

and last but not really important for me but since they showed on video they need to add. Trading system...

Game is a total garbage and we all play it for old time's sake and hope its gonna get better.

I really wish game gets better. My younghood was a lil bit better thanks to pokemon years ago. i really want to hold on to it.
I hope niantic makes this game more enjoyable.

Its too because the management has been sucking it up, the only reason why this game was/is/could be succesful is because of pokemon mark, not because niantic at all

Nothing was worse the grinding out 400 candies for a Gyrados then get twister on that 100% Carp you have been saving for a month. Getting so pissed you say f-it and transfer it for 1 candy. Had to get a new phone after that one, old one is still at the bottom of that lake.

Similar story here. 96% Gya with fucking twister. If only the move was as lethal as its name...

Sounds like some folks have a personal problem with not being able to cope with disappointment in a RNG based game. I hope folks that quit over the agravation of getting a Pineco never bother to procreate. They are too mentally weak to have success in life.

In regards to the other stuff we are all a little dissapointed that we don't have everything we hoped for right now but things have come that we're promised and I'm sure the others are too.

They can keep that trading for all I care.

Getting bad skills or bad pokemons from eggs, I DONT CARE... but i care when i cant track sh1t or gym/combat system sucks.
I love this game and i want to see progress on mechanics not new gens or stupid hat colors...
