The Ex Raid has 45 mins to start and the ex raid pass is still in my bag but I can see this photo. What does it mean? Can I still join the EX raid?

We got the EX raid pass on Friday and went there immediately. It turned out to be a Lapras but we beat it anyway. Then afterward I got the cancellation. Maybe it's because we beat the boss so it shows it's finished? So confusing. I'm gonna try anyway since I still have the pass in my bag, which is invited by my wife. Just hope Niantic could make this kind of thing neat.
