What does the design on the new free avatar shirt mean?

I assume it's for the event... I didn't see it yesterday (I change my avatar outfit frequently). It's a white shirt with a circle design with the text "Global Goals".

What does this refer to? I haven't got a clue (sponsor? Event?).

Thanks for any info!

Try looking here, and it will lead you through some link to get as much or as little information as you want.

The design is the logo for the United Nations Sustainable Develop Goals. These are in the news this week based on the Goalkeepers progress report released by the Gates Foundation and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).

The report is here:

A great summary by the Economist is here:

I highly recommend checking out both.

For all of Niantics talk about history, reclaiming your city, and "global goals" , they created a game where you drive to raids and must travel to sponsor locations to get exclusive content. Hypocrisy at the highest level!
