What to do with these Dragonites

So when I was less knowledgeable about this game than I am now, I was Dragonite hunting and caught and powered up these two:

DT/HB 14/7/12 73%
DT/HR 6/15/15 80%

Now, my threshold for IVs is 70%. Lower than most hardcore people, but it feels fair enough to me. However, I powered up these 2 (im level 25 and cant power them up further) without looking at the actual details of their A/D/S, and now im unsure if I should cut bait or keep them. I didnt realize just how extreme the differences between some of their stats are.

Especially since I just hatched a 96% dratini and have 90 candy and 25+ more whenever the next double candy event rolls around and I can transfer bad catches. It feels dumb to not evolve and power up the 96% one, but powering up 3 Dragonites feels a little silly despite how good they are. The only other things I've invested stardust into is a 93% Ttar, a 96% Gyarados, 83% Ryhdon, and a Lugia and a Raikou I've thrown some rare candy at.

The Dragonite with just 6 attack ive been primarily using for holding gyms when my Blissey is busy. (Dont have a good Snorlax) Figured that'd work fine since Hurricane is good for countering Machamp and it has perfect Def/STA, and I had been planning to TM HB on the other one until I got Outrage.

Any tips?

I would transfer them but I've transferred a 2980 75% and a number of others too.

Seems kind of stupid to transfer a lvl 30 Dnite. I bet you had something better to transfer or else expand the box.

I already maxed out 4. The stupid autoselect menu would always pic the wild caught ones instead of the invested ones. What's up with that!?

I don't care how moveset work. I can't see an instance where steel wing hyper beam will ever out preform dt/o or h.

The reason I say to transfer then is you might not care about IVs now but you will when you get better versions of what you powered up and are out 200 k + dust.

Save up candy for your good Dratini until you have enough to both evolve then power up a good amount. Keep these other two to use as gym defenders.

In the grand scheme of things you have done nothing wrong. At most these mons are lvl 26.5. Power-ups do not get really expensive until lvl 30+. You are fine and have not thrown away resources.

Power up your best mons, and if these are your best mons then so be it.

Play this game by your rules and make yourself happy.

Don't transfer them. If you are lvl 25 they are probably the highest neutral dps Mons you got. I bet they will do better than your 93% ttar in a neutral matchup and will be useful against Entei. I would even invest a cTM on the HB one. That said, don't invest any more candy or dust on them, save that for your 96% dratini.

wait for the halloween event when you get 2 candies for transfer, Otherwise, useless

Walk that dratini and evolve it. Don't power up the other 2 dragonite. Just cut the lose here before u start investing more. Thankfully u barely used any resources since the Pokemon are still lower level. U will be happy u evolved the dratini later on. I hatched a 96 larvitar at level 7 and I evolved it and powered it up and I'm still proud and happy about it to this day.

I could never transfer a D'nite, yours have fine stats.... Show them off in gyms, impress noobs.

P.S. My favorite D'nite with legacy DB/DC has 38% IV's.... I would never transfer (or trade) her.

I wouldn't listen to the snobs here (who often time can only afford this attitude because they cheat to find high iv mons) and concentrate on what you have and need to play the game effectively at this point in time.

At level 25, what you usually don't have is a lot of candy and dust. Powering up a better dratini may be good for your ego and at your rather low level, the costs of bringing a level 20 one to level 26.5 are not prohibitive (but you have to evolve him first...).

On the other hand, the dragonites you have are for all intents and purposes good enough for every game situation where you may need them, i.e. gym wiping and raids. This is true even in case of your Hurricane dragonite in a Machamp solo, the most challenging situation for a Dragonite thus far: at level 33, the mathematical kill speed difference between a 6 atk iv dragonite and a 15 atk iv is a measly two seconds. That said, the one with 15 atk iv can reach the kill speed of the 6 atk iv one already at level 30.

So there you have it. Given your rather low level, dumping one of your dragonites in favor of evolving and powering up a dratini seems justifiable and might flatter your ego. Still, I would not do it if I were in your shoes, assuming you are not just playing for the galery and to impress others at forums. First, your dragonites are good enough for whatever you will throw them at. Second, at your low level, you are unlikely to have a huge set of quality attackers. Third, you can still leave them behind and power up a high iv one for your gusto once you reach a higher level and are in a more comfortable position. Last but not least, it seems likely that dragonite will become a raid boss eventually. So investing 125 candies in a level 20 dragini might look like a foolish thing to do in a few weeks time.

I would definitely ctm the hyperbeam one though...

Edit: Btw, I only have 2 powered up dragonites myself (both sit at level 36). They have 82% and 84% iv and always served me well. Just watch the pokemon animated series and let yourself inspire by Ash Ketchum. He never was a social Darwinist and this is in fact his best quality and the reason why his mons love him:-)
